Reposting the thread I started last night (which was somehow moved to the off topic board) for those who missed it...

Last night was unbelievable. These are supposedly the "Noles of old", and we played them off their feet for 50+ minutes. This loss will sting for a long time, but I don't know if I've ever been prouder of a team, especially after a loss. A win would've been a great cap, but if you don't know what this team is about after this game, you never will. They showed if they put the total package together, they can play with anyone in the nation. And let me just say that I, for one, am DAMN proud that Chan Gailey is the head coach at GT and I'm ashamed to have jumped on his back over the things that have happened the last 10 months. If we all just shut up, take some of the lumps that are to be expected, and stick on the path that Chan is leading us down, we'll all see that it will pay off in the long run. We've seen solid evidence of that the last two weeks, and the best is yet to come.

Think what you want about him, but to listen to his voice cracking during the post game interview when talking about the heart and courage of the guys, that says it all to me. The man is giving is heart to GT. It's time to get our collective foot off his throat and let him breathe a little.

Just my $0.02. I'm off the

now...

AMEN!! I've always respected the man, Chan Gailey, but did not think he was the man for GT. Well boys, I was dead wrong. I honestly believe that Coach Gailey will lead us to an ACC title within three years.

I am very disappointed that we lost that game last night. We were in position to win and should have won. However, looking over the last three games, it it obvious that we are a well coached team. We are young and inexperienced at many positions yet we are very close to being 3-0 against probably the toughest schedule that any team has faced yet this year. We played one of the 5 best teams in the country last night on their home field and punched them in the mouth for 3+ quarters. Our lack of depth and experience is what made us fall short in the end....NOT the coaching.

How can people claim that recruiting / coaching has been bad when our young players are giving established, deep teams fits? Why don't all the nay sayers shut up and admit that our program, despite having recently taken some tough shots, is in the hands of a great coaching staff who is taking us in the direction we want to go.

Include me in on this one.. I am proud of our Jackets.. dont like the loss one bit.. but am proud.. and am even more convinced that Gailey is going to be the best thing that has happened to Tech football in decades..

Dang good post JJ. CCGs attitude is rubbing off on the playres. They are starting to EXPECT to beat top 17 teams now.
