I entered this season with a wait and see approach all the negativity (from press, fans, alumni and events)notwithstanding. I went to several pratices and could see that Ball was the best QB choice for TECH. So I hoped he would be the starter, (btw talked to one of Reggie's HS coaches he really sold me on his ability as a winner). Still alot of ??? marks depth, D-Line and RB's.
Two games deep vs BYU & Auburn I see a team of character that shows no sign of quitting unlike last year vs. uga and Fresno. Whatever happens Saturday night win or lose we may only hope this never give up - play until the final horn does not end.
In retrospect I believe our 2002 season unraveled against FSU, after that loss we were never the same. All the momentum from UVA/NCST wins were derailed. We won vs. Duke at home but the performance was lackluster. We never played at the higher level after the FSU loss.
The expectations were elevated and the kids spirits were broken and no matter what anyone says emotions are a crucial element in football.
I believe Chan learned from last year and has become a better motivator. I don't believe I've seen a TECH teams any more inspired than last week.
Finally this team win or lose deserves our support... next week I hope everyone able gets out and loud vs Clemson!!! GO GT

Interesting points you've stated.
I really thought that last year would be a super wonderful year at year end, but it just didn't come around. When anyone has a new coach, coaches, sytem, it will be a period for development. Can't say if we will win another game this year or not but it won't shake my confidence in what we have in place. We should be very proud of the coaching staff that we now have, as they have done an excellent job so far of taking a team devasted by injuries and other problems and shaping them into a team of winners.
The only time that I have questioned the Chan Gailey choice was when in the last two games of the season, we appeared to quit. Winning ballgames is great but building character in these young men is even greater. Glad to see the direction we are headed now.
