Well, What can I say? Our coaches were out coached. Our players were not set up for success.

I guess I will start with the offense. First off, We are pure vanilla again. The opposition knows exactly when we will run and exactly when we will pass just by our formation. We only hand the ball off to the tailback and it goes either off tackle right or off tackle left. Who was it that said Friegen didn't have many plays but he used many formations? My point is we do not disguise a single thing we are trying to do on offense. I cannot remember the last time I witnessed Tech running a draw or a counter. Heck what ever happened to the option? I have seen some people say that we do not have the type of QB to run an option attack. I say BS to that argument. If Goose can run the option then Suggs and Bilbo can run it as well. And please don't say that they may not be ready mentally. If they are ready to read secondary then that have the mental capacity to run the option.
I cannot make up my mind about the passing game. Either the QB or the receiver is making the wrong read. It infrequent that we see our receivers splits the seam of zone coverage. Most, not all, of our passes have been into the heart of the coverage. This boils down to coaching. The players are not making the reads and adjustments not because they cant but because they are not being taught to do so. I have yet to see our offence set up a play. I still do not see our Offense selling the fake on a play action. Part of a game plan is not just to find plays that will work but to find plays that will complement each other and give you an advantage. How many times did we see Fridge run little dump passes or the triple option for a few yards? He would run these plays several times during the game and get the D used to seeing it. Later in the game he would have a variation of the same plays that he knew he could exploit for big yards when it was needed. I have yet to see us take advantage of a speed or height advantage. I am not so sure Billy needs to be on the sideline. He did a good job for Fridge when he was in the box maybe he should consider going back to the box so he can see what is happening. Billy wasn't a QB and most likely cannot see the field to teach Suggs and Bilbo what to look for in the coverage. (I know Fridge was not a QB but he is the exception) Most coordinators coach from the box I think Billy might be better served by coaching from the box so he can see mismatches and use them to our advantage.
This post is much longer than I had anticipated. I will post my thoughts on the D later.
Just my opinion. Please let me kno0w if you feel contrary to any points I have made. Criticism does not bother me.

PM Gold, your opinion is as good as any of ours. We definitely have some problems. It is the smart person that considers all opinions and information and then puts it all together for a better picture of the situation.

I thought that Gailey requested BOB to coach from the box before the season. BOB preferred the sidelines.

Scary thought- BOB has been the offensive coordinator for 1 1/2 years and we are still questioning him.

However I don't question him scaling back the playbook for Suggs.

Maybe we just don't have the QB necessary to run the offense.

Actually PMG , RF did play qb at MD in addition to being a lineman;heard it from his own lips I did!!

PM Gold, I didn't see anything in your post I disagree with.

There have been times when we've been on the money. The skinny post call for the TD to Bridges was a thing of beauty for example. Good call...Good throw...Nice catch in stride....TD.

Unfortunatly that hasn't been the norm.

I too would very much like to see BOB move up to the box. Let Gailey or someone else talk to the qbs on the sideline. BOB can talk to the qb by phone when D is on the field.
