Just back in town. Has there been any explanation that makes sense as to the timeout called before the half? I if missed it..apologies on my behalf.

Also, the O-Line was aweful on Saturday. I assume I am not the only one concerned about the new o-line coach. We got whipped on most passing downs.

That was a long rainy day Saturday but let's not use the B--- L---- words yet.

<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">One loss does not a B*** L**** make. Actually, I thought some of our run-blocking was good. On the passes, let's just say that many of those passes should have never been called. When you consistently have 2nd and short, it's better to stick with the run, particularly on a wet field.

As for the timeout, CG has said he wanted to preserve some time on the clock for his offense. I can accept that (don't really like it, though)...except that when we got the ball back, we lollygagged around and let time expire, only running one play. So, that explanation seems kind of empty to me. On top of that, the 25 second clock was running and I think the timeout gave Bowden a chance to reconsider. If we don't call the timeout, he gets no chance to reconsider and is forced to kick the field goal on a drive that started at our 5 yard line.

It was not one of our better days. That's for sure.

Coach said we were trying to conserve time with that TO. But when we got the ball back, we threw 1 incomplete pass and ran a running play, so if that was the reason, we sure didn't execute on it well.

What would have happened had he not called TO? I figure the Tigers would have lined up but not run the play (since there wouldn't be time), take a five-yard penalty, then kick it in an organized fashion. We would have given up 3 points instead of 7.

Of course, had the shovel pass not worked, CG would have looked brilliant for tempting TB to go for 7.

But, you have to judge a call by the most probable outcome, and on that basis I judge the TO call as a mistake.

The OL is a concern. When you look at the 218 action shots at tigernet.com (linked in the Buzz) it's hard to see our line after the play develops. Our guys are getting pushed all over the place.

I thought at least our strong side would hold better.

We might as well face it. We just don't have the raw talent to be dreaming of a top 20 finish this year. With a couple of strong recruiting years, we could be BCS contenders in '05. We need a slow, steady climb to the BCS plateau where we want to be. In the meantime, we're looking at the Settle, Tire, or Pits bowls.

Nothing would make me happier than to be wrong about this, and have this post thrown back in my face at the end of the year. But, it's how I see it now.

I wouldn't throw in the towel on the season yet and say our OL is in trouble from one game at CU.

That was one of the dumbest calls that I have seen a HC call. Clemson was out of TO's and had sent the kicking team out to kick the FG whe Chan suddenly developed a bad case of BRAIN CRAMPS and gave them four additional points. And those four points were huge-if gailey had let clemson take the field goal we would have tied them when we scored our last TD. Instead of Clemson having 24 points they would have 20 points and we would not have been forced to go for two after our last TD.
I have been very disappointed in Chan-he seems to have lost control of his team as they do what they please. I hope I'm wrong butIdon't think so-this team just come unravelled Saturday. But I will be pulling fortheJacketsSaturday.

So, Big Buck, according to you, the Time Out was what made the ball somehow get from Willie's hand to the receiver. That's one helluva time out.

Would you have said that if Clemson had not scored the TD? Of course not. Calm down dude, and think before you blurt out stuff like that.

Personally, I was glad they decided to go for it. Hold them to 0 points was what I was thinking, and it almost happened, but I guess it was the coach who lost contain on Willie and gave up the TD.
