Their rules drove away all but the former hall monitors and elementary school snitches. A combination of Reggie Ball and Makers Mark got me banned and I never looked back

Does nobody in here pay attention? Stansbury had Ken Whisenhunt lined up to take the job - TS and Whiz were at GT at the same time (as was I). TS never wanted Collins - some booster(s) shoved Collins down his throat so he hired him. TS' problem was sticking with him much longer than he should have.

Either way it was done unilaterally (by his own design). I’m also not buying that booster angle.
 
TStan seemed like a deer in headlights to me. Don't know him and that might be an unfair characterization but every time he spoke he just seemed like he didn't have a clue.

I was at event once where he spent quite a while detailing how he only cared about six figure donations from super rich tech people and didn't care about smaller gifts.

I could see the fundraising organizers panicking a bit and they tried to clarify that all of our donations were welcome and helped once he was done talking. It was weird.
 
Why would anybody take Collins over Whisenhunt? All American, played on both sides of the ball. NFL player and coach. Super competitive. I was playing third base in a softball play-off game and Whiz took me out sliding in to third.

Todd’s other problem was the dumbass contract he gave Collins. If he was smart, he could have avoided hiring Collins and gotten the guy he wanted by sticking on contractual terms to poison the Collins deal.

He's a pretty poor public speaker for an AD. A lot of bad ADs at least excel in that facet.
 
If it's true that TStan let boosters bully him into hiring someone he didn't want, even more reason to fire him. That kind of cuck-like behavior is unbecoming of an AD.
