Time to vent...

I'm just as frustrated as everyone else about how our team has performed this year. It's twice as frustrating because the dogs are having a great year so far. Anybody calling for Gailey's head doesn't know anything about football or life. Anybody who has inherited a job from someone else understands that it takes time to get everything adjusted to the way you work. I think Chan has done a great job so far - dealing with all the injuries and setbacks. We have new players at very important positions. AJ may not be Joe or Godsey, and I get frustrated watching him make mistakes, but CG wouldn't purposefully put this team in position to lose. He's been a coach for longer than I've been alive and was a QB himself, so I'm thinking he deserves the benefit of the doubt on that call. Bilbo will be a great player one day. He isn't the only reason for our record. It would be great if we were undefeated, but that wasn't a realistic view to begin with. I just don't see how griping and complaining about OUR TEAM, PLAYERS AND COACHES helps. I hope that it won't be long until our programs starts to show some improvement and win some ball games. Until then, I remain a fan of GT and am behind CG and the rest of our players 100%.
 
Me too, GTMgt, excellent post.

It is decidedly odd that so many posters here think they know more about the team than the coaches do. I wonder how comfortable they would be if a bunch of football coaches looked at their work once a week for 3 hours and then declared all the things they would do better, and who should get fired.
 
I don't think firing CG is called for yet but people need to vent. Are we supposed to be happy 24-7 about what's going on this season? Everything you read on this board isn't going to be fun & games.
 
Well bellyseries, if they were paying my salary that could say whatever they wanted after watching me work. I am sure all Chan hears is noise, I mean this guy worked for Jerry Jones so I seriously doubt that some messages on the internet are going to affect him. What would be worse is if we did not care.
 
I suppose that is what they are saying about Solich at Nebraska and Zook at Florida also. Thats not to mention Tuberville at Auburn (4yrs. on the job.On and on I could pull up more names from the present and not so distant past where a new coach was excused from being held from maintaining or surpassing standards set by the previous coach. I for one was never enthused by Braines list of prospective coaches after O'brien at B.C. was dismissed as a candidate. My point is that winning coaches win with good players or show noticable improvement with poor personel because of superior tactics i.e. the ole smoke and mirrors tricks. I believe he inherited a excellent bunch of athletes because that is all O'leary recruited. I'll be there Saturday with my support for the team. I just hope I see improved coaching in all areas of the game. I best shut up now before I really get wound up. All I have left to say is go jackets give them hell!

Just imagine what a little time will do at ND or OK. Come on - what improvement has this team shown, it gets worse by the week. This is the same team minus a very few that everyone including the experts were looking at for the BCS last year. The defense is back and Roof is gone. It is not getting better and when I look at the schedule it doesn't look it will get better any time soon.
