...coming out of Texas and USC. Mack Brown and Pete Carroll seem to have the mindset that a BCS championship game can't be played without them.

When you lose a game you are thrown into 'the mix' with everybody else --so-and-so beat so-and-so who beat so-and-so-- that's how it goes.

Here's an idea, don't lose to teams who give up 65 points in their losses.

That said, Texas is probably gonna get screwed by Oklahoma because Texas lost earlier in the season. I'm the biggest "just win your games" person in the world, which is why I favor a playoff. USC just plays in a VERY weak conference, and had no room for error this year. Period. Their resume doesn't measure up to anyone else that they're trying to talk their way over. Texas, on the other hand has at least a decent beef.
