Titans fake punt

i cant tell if the punter makes a read. In other words, if the punter sees no one bite on the safety running the reverse, he can actually hand it off, or, if he sees everyone bite on the safety, he keeps and runs.

the other scenario is where he does a fake hand off every time and keeps.
 
Those are some sharp looking uniforms.

Seems like some of the older, college-y plays are finding their way back into the College Retirement League. Anyone wanna bet we see a veer or two, run from the flexbone at some point this season?

I'd like to bet against it. The Falcons tried that when Vince Young's "handoff option" was in vogue, and it was a disaster. I guess it did work pretty well for one game, and exactly one game, but Vick was a very special player, and that didn't involve actually tossing the ball backwards off of a read(and even then we still had turnover problems with it.) I just don't see anyone trying an actual option play in the NFL.

Nah. Now every time they punt, they can run that guy behind the punter and the other team has to keep a player set to "spy" on him in case they run the reverse or the punter keeps it again. If nothing else, it may slow down the punt rush for part of the season.
