Recency effect notwithstanding, interested to see everyone's thoughts on how last night's game stacked up with some recent close title games.

Limited choices to games since 2000 whose final MOV was a TD or less, choices in chronological order (I think I got them all but if I missed one let me know)

I was happier with the outcome of last night's game (I didn't really have any emotional investment in that 2006 Rose Bowl) and the ending was great, but just from a pure fun to watch aspect, USC v. Texas still wins.

Most exciting to me was 2005 Texas/USC with this year's coming in a pretty close second. As much as I dislike Bama/SEC, one of the most satisfying to me was 2012 Bama taking ND to the woodshed.

Gotta go with Texas over USCw. This year, if Clemson doesn't get the TD they could have just kicked the chip shot FG for OT. Texas was down by 5 and scored on 4th down with about 10 seconds left. Heck I'd probably put the FSU/Auburn game above it too. But the two Clemson/Bama matchups would likely be 3 and 4.

Last year's Clemson/Alabama was better except for the victor. I'd put Texas-USC at #1 and the last 2 title games tied for second place.

I loved the 2004 USC/Oklahoma Orange Bowl halftime show where Ashlee Simpson got booed by the whole stadium. Game was boring as all hell though.

I'm not sure if Clemson's TD with :01 left on the clock, their revenge onside kick, or Steve Spurrier getting booed by Clemson fans was my favorite highlight of the game.

No LSU/BAMA REMATCH OF THE CENTURY? That game jumped several sharks, and never landed. It was way rad.

Voted for FSU/Auburn, because I remember being absolutely furious with the sport and all humans when Auburn went up 21-3 like it was nothing, and watching FSU storm back to do the last minute lead change thing was really fun when the "team of destiny" shit came crashing down on Auburn. They had built up this huge ethos around them like no matter what they would always score a touchdown in the last second of the game on a 60 yard hail mary where the ball defied physics somehow. Not. Glorious.

I would have voted for Bama/Clemson 16, because the ending was really good, but I was so pissed about how long it took that it sucked the joy right out of the moment.
