If F$U can afford to pay off the officials, the dogs certainly can and will....

Might I suggest the crew from the MAC conference that called the Marshall-Ohio game a couple of weeks ago. They seemed like quite an unbiased bunch of bafoons. At least the obvious indiscretions waited until the last 2 plays of the game.....probably made the others look like a walk in the park.

ACC officials are absolutely the worst. They tend to make terrible calls in general without playing favorites. (EXCEPTION: they do tend to favor FSU.)

SEC officials are almost as bad as ACC officials, but not quite. They seem to be more likely to favor an SEC team in a non-conference battle, but they are so inept that they even occasionally mess that up.

Would much rather have some totally neutral officials from out west somewhere...that don't have a dog in the fight.

Right on y'all. ACC zebra's are BAD. This statement is based on watching other ACC games beside GT.

Concur that neutral ref's should be brought in.

I agree 100%. We need neutral officiating. Will it happen - No. Does it need to - more than imaginable. It's then that we can stop arguing about who won over what calls. And the ACC officials I'll admit have made more than their fair share of horribly ugly calls, but I wouldn't say that the $EC officials are angelic beings either.

Here is one thing Tech and Georgia folks can probably agree on - the arrangement of the visiting teams conference officials stinks. I know, I know it was SEC refs who called the fumble - but it was also the SEC refs that called that piece of s__t pass interference call that let Bobo have another set of downs. Before we go through the entire history of b--t calls, it is my opinion that the visiting refs go out of their way to make sure they are seen as "fair". Couple that with the fact that ACC crews are about as incompetent as your local Pop Warner crew from the gas station and we have ourselves a formula ripe for getting ripped off in Athens. I say we go with an equally incompetent bunch - say from JoPa's Ten crew of idiots, who may just call enough stupid things both ways to make it even.

Why am I so nervous about using ACC refs in Athens? Cause I've seen consistently poor calls all year, and I am confident they will have a bearing on the game.

what really pisses me off about the '97 call was that the gutless sob didn't call it until Ward got up and complained and the ball was intercepted. I guarantee that guy doesn't make the call if the pass is incomplete.

Agreed. Never before this year have I considered two opponents per game; the other guys wearing helmets, and the ones wearing whistles.

I don't know why the officiating has become so bad. In past years, I have been p****d or have laughed because of an unjust call. This year, I am afraid because many of them simply do not know the rules of football, and I am not just talking about interference. That crew at our NCSU game leaps to mind.

It's sad, and something HAS to be done about it.
