My church, growing up, had a tradition of having those that graduated high school go up to the pulpit during a special service to present a statement. I went up to the pulpit and stated that, "Next year, I will be attending gA. Hopefully, I will graduate in 4 years and proceed to kindergarten."

One of my biggest regrets in life is that I never did this. I thought of it, but didn't say it. I told my dad that I said it. He looked totally impressed and proud. We were both crestfallen after I told him that I didn't really say it.

My brother claims this is a true story. I forget the exact details. At his church a man either being ordained a deacon or baptized was asked to say a word of testimony. To the chagrin of the pastor, the Auburn grad yelled, "War Eagle!".
