and I bet we all know at least one person personally, I say to you...

and you know who you are...
WHAT A TREMENDOUS EFFORT BY "everyone" on Tech's team and its' coaching staff....I was so dang emotional at the conclusion of this game.
Thank you Yellow Jackets!

We were unkind because we know you and I both had reservations about his coaching. Let's not go over board here!

MS TechAnalysis..........as part of the freedom to post what you like on this board comes the responsibility to be held accountable when you are proven to be hasty in your judgement.

. And if I may add that he (CG) is a little ahead of the time schedule I had given him to succeed. I knew he had it in him but some of us (Tech fans) would not give him the same opportunity to learn as they would hope others gave them in a new job. The same goes for Suggs. I am so happy for that young man and his family. You had to think that after the humilation of being booed by your own fans that his family thought GT was not the place he should be. We gave Donnie Davis 4 years to develop (never quite did) but gave Suggs only 2 bad games. Come on people, we are reviewed by our managers on an annual basis for merit increases. Young men and coaches should get the same amount of time (entire season) before evaluation time. A good manager develops the people in his sphere of influence, he does not humiliate them. We should all learn to be better managers of the Tech football program (managing up if you will). Very soapboxy but I am drunk on the euforia of yeaterday's win and can't help myself. Go Jackets!

I don't understand why some people see the need to post "where are you Chan bashers now." Do you think yesterday's win somehow redeems you for being a FOC? What if he loses the remaining three games. Can someone then post "where are you FOCers." It is a freaking pissin contest. Except for one blatently negative poster, the rest of us brought up legitimate concerns about our coaching staff and some of their decisions. Yesterday was a great win, probabaly our most complete since the Seattle Bowl. The team played with grit and determination and executed a great game plan. What is frustrating is why couldn't we have done that all year? We are all Tech fans, and expect the best from the program. I am still not completely sold on our Coach, but I never have stopped supporting him or the players. Raising concerns is not nonsupport.

here is the point i want to make ...

just like two wins in a row doesn't negate negatives ... similarly two losses in a row should not be enough reason to panic and run like the sky is falling ...

MsTechAnalysis .. you were on this board after the two losses asking if there is a way to contact players directly so that you could support them because you felt that the coaches are not upto the mark ..

CG's problem is not being able to handle the leadership role and give insight to his coaches.. he's complained too much already about all the work involved in being a 'college' coach vs. NFL. My God, didn't he know he had to work for his paycheck? College coaching is and has always been more hands-on then NFL. But my feeling is, even if he had been hands-on we would have reached the same results!
<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">take a look at your posts earlier .. they're embarrassing to read .. just trying to remind you that support the team when they win AND WHEN THEY LOSE .. and MsTechAnalysis .. the team includes the coaches!

support the team (and the coaches) when they deserve it the least .. cause that's when they need it the most.

the above quote that you have posted does not highlight any "legitimate" concern .. it just shows that you had not given Gailey enough time and jumped to a conclusion. nor had you given yourself time to get to know Chan Gailey and what kind of a person he is ..

My simple take on my original post was made with humor and certainly NO MALICE towards any one individual. We are all Tech fans on this board and I "only" wanted to say that we will have ups and downs, and because of our passions for Tech run deep, my post was only meant to convey positive feelings to our team and coaches. And even I am not immune from feeling the frustrations of this year...this post was meant for congratulations and humor and nothing else and not meant to direct an ANYONE. To those that took offense to this, I apologize.

ylo, why bring all that up? Do you feel better for calling out another Tech fan? Did you save every negative post so you could later throw it back in people's face to prove "you are the true Tech fan?" MSTech probably was posting out of frustration, but reading the post you quoted, she list some concerns there. Chan has admitted he was not prepared for the effort involved at the college level. Don't you think that played some role in our loss to Clemson? And like it or not, he did ease into this job while he continued to call plays in Miami. Don't you think that affected not only recruiting but the time it took to build his staff. Like I said earlier, we can continue to pass judgement on those "poor Tech fans" or we can get around to talking about finally beating FSU.

wrecked .. if someone post's their frustration .. and i get frustrated reading their frustrated posts .. then why can i not post my frustrations with their frustrated posts?

wrecked .. if someone is going to post stupid posts while they are frustrated or drunk or whatever .. why can't they be held accounted for it?

now we get two good wins .. which were undoubtedly influened by coach Gailey .. and we see the players rally and fight and claw and scrap to hard earned victories .. and someone points out that your earlier frustrations were out of line .. and you get frustrated by that???

MsTechAnalysis .. please don't be offended by my posts ..

i'm sorry that i had to quote your earlier post to make a point ..

And for those who complained that "he has no emotion, no fire".... not sure if you saw the postgame interview or not... but that man was full of emotion.... and I definately saw fire and coaching from him on the sideline yesterday.... as I have stated before, its amusing to me that characteristics can be applauded in one coach (Richt) and the very same characteristics can be "booed" in another...

Two questions. One, who said anybody needed to be held accountable for a post? If that was true we would all post under our real names. Two, after the Clemson and Maryland losses did you post anything negative about the coaching staff and the team's performance. If we are going to congratulate them for the wins (as we should) we sure can question decisions in the losses. Look, Chan seems to have found a comfort zone in his staff and game planning. He finally forced O'Brien to the booth after he openly defied him on the sidelines, he spread the field to allow Suggs more time and easier targets to hit. All good decisions, but they should have been made earlier. Beat FSU and let's win out.

Gee, Wrecked, it is really an insult-and unfair- to quote somebody's words, isn't it? And congratulations on your hindsight!

I don't mind criticism of Gailey and the staff. What I don't like is seeing more than one poster hoping he'll get fired. To me, that kind of talk at this point is plain ridiculous. Legitimate criticism (much of it deserved, but not all of it) is OK though. This has not been a perfect year from the sideline.

But hey, we're 6-3. We have a chance to beat FSU. Let's pull together and get the win. We have a good chance to be 8-3 going into Athens. Once there, we'll roll the dice and see what happens.

Maybe the fact that he saw the passion of the Tech fans lit a fire in Gailey.

I sent Coach Gailey and e-mail thanking him for having the fortitude to stay the course when all of us fans (myself included) were screaming for a change. Thanked him for having patience. I also thanked him for being our HC and reminding so many of us what it means to be part of the Tech family this weekend. When he was about to cry I thought I would too. Dadgum Jack Daniels was getting to me

<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">Beesnut, glad to see you sent Gailey an email thanking him. I remember some of your posts about Gailey, mentioning how the coach from so-and-so U is looking for a job, and other such Gailey bashing. Kinda funny how you mentioned having patience to a coach when you wouldn't even give him 1 year to get the team used to him and his system.

Regardless, we still should not judge Gailey on these past two games. Let's wait till after year 2 to take a full impression from him. I for one think he'll do great, but let's wait and see...
