Per AJC article:
“And that should be the case because we just continue to work on all the things that we need to work on across the board, whether it be things in the pass game or run game with the O-line or where are our fits, who are we blocking, just basic things,” he said.

Patenaude said that the offense has been “a mixed bag” through three games. Patenaude has shuffled three quarterbacks and worked with a beat-up offensive line. The run game appears ahead of the pass game. Quarterback Tobias Oliver stood out in the loss to the Bulldogs, earning a grade of 90.

“And nobody really grades out as a 90,” Patenaude said of Oliver, who ran 11 times for a team-high 92 yards and completing two of three passes for 27 yards.

Even a novice recognizes that the offense is more effective with Oliver at QB. Shouldn’t take a grading system to figure that out.
 
A lot easier to grade out better when you’re only getting half the snaps. Does that mean he shouldn’t start? Not necessarily.
 
What happened to all the posters at the start of the season who were screaming for Lucas to be the starting QB?

I'm sure they'll tell you it's the OL's fault. Each game reveals just how little CPJ cared about a QB's ability to throw the ball. What's stunning to me is that LJ shows little talent at running, so when I add to that the fact that he was pegged as Taquon's backup last year, I start to wonder if CPJ was even trying those last two years.
 
1) I don't know what the coaches are going to do and I typically don't care about QB controversies but this time I do and I want to see Oliver at QB as much as possible.

2) Yeah, I don't think Lucas plays much at all if Johnson is still the coach. He isn't beating out Oliver or Graham. I'm a little shocked how slow he is (just compared to what GT typically has at the QB position).

Most practice reports were pretty adamant that Lucas was running the offense better. His game performances are obviously not as good as his practice performances were.

I think LJ was on track to supplant TQ as the starter until he hurt his foot right?
 
The thing I've read somewhere about Johnson being slow is in part that between redshirting and injury he just hadn't played full speed football in forever and he hasn't caught back up to it. Not to really excuse anything, cause we don't know if he ever will get back up to speed or if the past injury is contributing anything.
 
There's a reason why game experience is more valuable than practice experience. PNode should evaluate them based on gameday results. Right now, Tobias is the guy.
 
Three games in, and it's obvious who should be playing QB. The only exception would JG, who hasn't had a chance to show what he can do. I don't really see any harm in giving him that opportunity tomorrow.
 
I do not think it is safe to assume T Oliver will be as effective in 90%+ of the snaps as he is at 30%-50% of the snaps. Because of this, I do not think we'll see an end to the QB rotation. I would like to see the passing QB as a change-of-pace to Oliver because he looks really good running the ball. I don't know if Oliver could survive the season running at the ratio that he is running and getting 40+ snaps per game. But, we have him returning kickoffs, so what do I know about mitigating injury risk?

I also realize that there are some reasons unknown to me that T Oliver didn't beat out TQM last year and didn't beat out L Johnson this year as the clear QB1.

.....and ultimately, GAME RESULTS should be the only thing that matters. Practice is merely a means to an end that sometimes doesn't reflect the true will of a gamer/winner when the stakes are on the line.

I was one of them...and I was wrong. Lucas looked good in the spring game and in open practice, but something is lacking on game day. Wouldn’t mind seeing JG get some reps to see what he can do, but agreed with the consensus here that Oliver gives us the best chance to win this year.
