i look for Cutcliffe to return to TN and Clemson to go after Bobby Johnson. I believe Bobby Johnson played for Climpsun.

Yes, he is their former DC and played for CU in the early 70s.

Call me crazy, but I don't think Cutcliffe will leave Duke for Tennessee. He's going to do things at Duke that will make everyone realize how good of a coach he is.

Not real sure UT would have him back.

Bobby Johnson is just a phone call away and the heir apparent at Clempson. I'd put money on that one.

Lane Kiffin will factor into one of these jobs. Can either school afford to pay off Fulmer or Tommy?? Didn't they sign long term contracts less than a year ago at like 2.5M a year?

If I was Clemson, I would go after Pat Hill @ Fresno State...Clemson has lacked toughness during Bowden tenure, I think Hill would instill that toughness.

Personally, I would go after Muschamp. I think he'd toughen Clemson up.

Looks like maybe the best thing that the Bowden coaching family has going for them is whoever the smart guy is who negotiates all the big dollar long term contracts for them.

When Clemson wises up, they'll be at least the 3rd school to pay a Bowden serious money NOT to coach for them!

I definitely see Muschamp in the mix at one of these schools. Tennessee may try to go after Butch Davis or Jim Grobe but neither of those will happen.

If I were putting money on it:

Muschamp to Tennessee

Bobby Johnson to Clemson

BIG maybe: Lane Kiffin to one (although he is a West Coaster- played at Fresno State and coached at Colorado State, USC, and Oakland)

you really think UT will go for someone who has not been a HC somewhere yet? i tend to think not, but perhaps.

Schiano may be ready to get out of Rutgers, he is a pretty good coach, would one of these schools call him?

As long as they all stay away from Chris Hatcher some people for some reason at the GSU forum think that Spurrier is possibly going to UT, I can't fathom that happening.

UT fans have never forgiven Spurrier's comments while at Florida -- Can't spell Citrus without UT, etc. Spurrier to UT will never happen.

UT would hire Satan himself before they would hire Spurrier. He is the most hated man in Knoxville.

I agree that UT would not go after someone with no HC experience...although Fulmer had no experience. They view themselves as frequent contenders for the MNC - not as a place for someone to learn how to coach.

I think Satan would make a pretty good coach, actually. Not sure how that would go over recruiting-wise though, especially with the parents.

Matato, am not sure what many of these recruiters preaching is not exactly what Satan might say as well -- TV time, PT, etc. I think only a few rare good schools still emphasize the student-athlete, rather than the reverse -- isn't that what that study on the educational exceptions by schools showed?

You gotta be kiddin me. Johnson and Clemson is so done you could bet your house on it. You think they're gonna invite Muschamp? Unbelievable. Just unbelievable.... Tennessee ain't gonna do it either, btw.

Muschamp will be back at Ugag as head coach in 4 to 5 years after P.J. has kicked them around some and their delusional fans have rode Richt out of town...The heat starts up on ole Richt after his 8-4 season this year, including losses to GT and UF...The 2 most hated rivals..:fingersx:
