Maybe we should have scheduled Auburn first. Talk about over rated and no QB. If I am CG and Tenuta I am licking my chops.

A defeated team, scored no points, physcially beat up, looking past us and a winning game plan to boot.

This is a golden opportunity to open the new stadium and one way for CG to silence the masses (or the 100 to ahso).

This can be an exciting game if CG gets RB into the game early instead of sheltering him. Let him learn from his mistakes.

Injured cats are very dangerous. Lets not get too confident.

All I am saying is this game is not hopeless. We have a good chance if we force them to pass. Theis game has the potential of turning everything around.

They won't have to throw it on us. We simply have nothing at DT or DE except for Henderson and he can't play all game.

They are going to line up. Stand in front of us. And run it right down our throats. We don't have a DL that would have been allowed on the flight from LA to Auburn except for Henderson.

This has beat down written all over it.

Brace yourself. AU isn't as bad as they looked on Sat, and we don't have the players do implement that scheme.

Our ONLY hope is:
1. AU attempts to use this game as a "practice things that are broken" game. In the process, JC throws needless picks.

2. We run the option and run it well all over them.

3. We get some big time breaks.

Don't blow it by the AU coordinators to screw up the gameplan and try to do something stupid.

Auburn is vastly overated BUT that doesn't meant they won't win 8 or 9 games this year. They have a history of bouncing back after losses. Lets not give 'em an inch on Saturday. Arrive early, decked in gold, shaker in hand, be loud and proud, and give 'em $#@@#$$!!!!!!!

GO JACKETS!!!

USC may be the best team in the country.

It was interesting to watch an ex pro coach realize that he was coaching a college football team.

Do you realize that if Chan opens up his playbook by 50%, we will have 9 plays in our arsenal this Saturday!

Lets see, we were able to run 47 plays from scrimmage last Thursday against a relative softee. BYU ran 75, I believe. Can it be any better against AU?

For those writing off Auburn, get real.

Chan only cares about not getting blown out by better teams. If we lose to Auburn by less than 17, he will be happy ,imo.

This is Chan's last chance for me. Winning this game is not imperative, its how he coaches. I am not encouraged.

I have to hand it to you. The above statement is one of saddest and at the same time most humorous statements I have ever read.

I guess it is better to laugh than to cry at what is being allowed to happen to our historic football program.

Thanks for the laugh....and the cry.

<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">LLCool: I am curious, do you really believe after all that you have said above that Chan will coach better in the Auburn game? What makes you think that he is capable of putting a better game plan together against a tougher opponent?

What makes you think Chan only worries about getting blown out by better teams ... what have you seen and felt since before the season started that makes you say this now?

This is not a flame, I really want to know.

Ms. TA. If you read my post, I say that I am not encouraged. That means I am not encouraged about how he will coach against Auburn.

Before the season, I stated 1 million times that I was giving him "my" chance due to all the crap of Dave Braine. That was the only fair thing to do, imo.

He still has "my chance", but I am not encouraged by what I have seen, and it has nothing to do with the loss on Thursday by itself.

I have not changed my position from earlier posts.
Before the Braine revelations, I gave him no rope. Because of Braine, he deserved a short one.

We really couldn't stop BYU's running game so I don't see us stopping a running teams attack. USC did but we aren't any USC. I would actually have prefered Auburn beat down USC rather than them getting beat down and having something to prove.

<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">You also said that 'this is Chan's last chance to show you', that is totally different then giving him the entire season. That's what I was relating to. If he loses to Auburn but shows you more offensive playcalling and it doesn't work ... what then?

<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">Then we play FSU the next Saturday. Then its Clemson... you get the picture.

Ms Glass you are just trying to rake muck because you are on a mission... Its not going to happen until the end of the year earliest and you and Bwear/Bbad can type yourselves silly, its not going to matter.

DaveTech, if Auburn is so bad, what will you be saying if they beat us by 30 this week?

Im not sure after getting beat by BYU we are in a position to criticize other teams, especially one that got beaten by a national championship contender.

Your criticism of the QB is misplaced - if we can't score we can't win. Will we reach the endzone this week?

nathogt... we did stop their run game. 83 yards on 32 carries is stopping it.

I agree with LLCoolJacket... Chan doesn't get the whole season as his chance. I was disappointed that we didn't make adjustments to take away the open TE or stop BYU's WR's from picking our LB's so they could complete the pass underneath. Both Tenuta and Chan need to have a fire lit under their butts. That second half was pretty poorly coached. I realize the team was tired and we lack some depth but fundamental execution will help alleviate some of the problems we are having.

Ms. TA,
I never once said I would "give" him the entire season because of the Braine cloud.

Here's how Chan can get my support for the f$u game: 1) A great week of prep for AU
2) An unpredictable and imaginative offensive plan that gets the ball to people that can score.
2a) An attacking defensive plan that yields less than 40% third down conversions.
3) Execution of that game plan.
4) A good halftime. He has not had one yet, with the possible exception of NCSU.
5) A positive turnover margin against Auburn.
6) 60 minutes of hustle in all phases of the game. We must out hustle every team on our schedule.
7) Continued good special teams play.

If the above is achieved and we fall short, I won't be happy, but we would have improved considerably.
If the above does not happen, we will lose big to Auburn and get absolutely routed by f$u.
So, this next week is big for me on how I judge Chan Gailey. I am not encouraged.

Sorry for being so long, but you asked.

Let me put it like this... if we run swing passes versus Auburn or FSU we will not have 147 yards passing. They are way to fast for that so Gailey will have to implement more of his ""offense."

He has no choice.
