Top opponents by number of games

Tulane left the SEC shortly after Tech. We continued our series with them until we began to play a full ACC schedule. That is one series I wouldn't mind restarting.

I wouldn't mind restarting any of the old SEC series.

UT, UF, Bama... can't believe we haven't scheduled a single game against these teams in the last 25 years.

No instead we schedule juggernauts such as: Samford, Jacksonville State, Mississippi State, Army, & Troy.

What a "crackerjack" of a website.
Thanks GTKyle, I've saved that one to my "favorites".

I would give anything to be back in the SEC again or at least play teams like UT, UF, UofA again. That would put butts in the stadium I bet. Nothing beats SEC football.

We have only played Ole Miss and Miss. State 3 times each?!

Bobby Dodd refused to take GT to the state of Mississippi and they as a result, they refused to come play in Atlanta. We played them a few times in bowl games though.

We also have never beaten FSU in Talahassee. We used to play Bama on a neutral field?

Our first visit to Tallahassee was 1993. All the games prior to that were in Atlanta. We used to play all the 2nd-rate teams only in Atlanta, never with a return visit.

We didn't play at Clemson for the first time until 1974, at Auburn (in the modern era) until 1970, or at South Carolina until 1971.

The 'Bama games were not really neutral site, they were at Legion Field in Birmingham, where 'Bama used to play all of their big games.

Back when we were in the SEC, there were 12 teams and you only played 6-7 conference games. It was up to the teams who they played, so if we didn't want to play Ole Miss or Miss State, we didn't ever have to.

Actually, I think we last played Bama in 1984.

That's it - I'm pulling out the videotape tonight.

Three games against Cumberland College and we 'only' scored a total of 258 points. I never would have guessed that.

1) More importantly, we haven't ever beaten FSU since they joined the ACC, in other words, since 1992. The series stopped after 2003 because they were put in the other division. They rotate back onto the schedule next year.
2) That site is counting Legion Field as a neutral site, which is probably wrong. Even if technically "neutral" I doubt this was actually the case.
