Tough day for the CPJ haters

Today was the 44th Tech- Georgia game since I became a freshman. We've gone 12-32 in those games. I have only experienced 12 days like today - and these twelve days have been some of the best in my life. Pepper Rodgers, Bill Curry and Bobby Ross each gave me two of these wonderful days. George O'Leary beat them three times. And now, Paul Johnson has given us three wonderful wins in '08, '14 and '16. God bless him, and goodnight.

There is no damn reason that shitty school is that much better than us in football. No. Damn. Way. I don't care about any reason why. We have started to turn the tide a bit over the last few years. Let's keep it up - and hopefully we can have many more days like this!

Best streaks vs UGA in my lifetime...

2-0 from '69-'70
4-3 from '84-'90
3-0 from '98-'00
2-1 from '14-'16

...here's to building upon '14-'16

There are a bunch of reasons why. However, we always manage to play them close over the past 10-15 years. Under the Gailey regime, we never were able to pull it out. Under CPJ, that tide has been turning a bit.

Here's to Smart being their Gailey.

I'm never one to shy away from unpopular opinion, so I will bite. I'm an on again, off again CPJ offense hater. Note I said offense, not the coach. I actually like our coach. The main things I dislike about the spread option are recruiting, blocking scheme and the passing game. Would I take PJ's option offense over an NFL offense like Gailey's? Any day and Sunday! However, the modern option has morphed into a inside/outside read option with spread offense passing. I really think this would help us recruit better linemen (zone blocking and pass blocking techniques) and definitely field a better defense. It doesnt seem like a quantum leap to evolve from our current offense to these modern tweaks? I'd love to see CPJ do these things but it looks like he gave up trying to modernize after the Vad Lee disaster...

Having said all that, maybe you dont screw with things that work. Last year aside, we have had some of our better years under CPJ and he has a more-than-acceptable record against the Dwags. I realistically hope for one win in five years against the mutts. CPJ delivers much better than that and has made it a true rivalry again.

Great day for CPJ lovers. He is a very good coach, but if you don't think our offensive and defensive schemes need some tweaks, I don't think you are being realistic.

3-6 is more than acceptable? No. 3-6 is "acceptable" if we're getting it done everywhere else which we've generally been doing since he got here. 3-6 feels good right now b/c we're 2-1 the last 3. If we split the first 6 and we're on. 3 game losing streak it wouldn't feel acceptable. 2-7 would not be acceptable. Just because Gailey didn't win any doesn't mean 1 out of 5 is a success.

Given their obvious advantages, 4 out of 10 would be a reasonable expectation IMHO. CPJ will have his chance next year.

Not a PJ hater, just don't like his attitude and demeanor, it's not conducive to recruiting. Yesterday was some of his coaching, but I believe the players said "enough of this we're not going to lose today!!

Most CPJ haters don't want to see Tech lose games. At least the reasonable ones don't.

i don't like the offense. I think it's boring even when it's working. But I'll take every Gictory over UGA he can deliver.

So not really a tough day at all.
