Lots of gnashing of teeth today (probably rightly so), but as of right now teams with coaching transitions are 0-6 on the bowl season.

With that kind of a weighted number, it's probably a relevant metric.

All in one idiot's opinion, of course!

The 'transition' is a major obstacle to a team making a post season appearance. I would think especially if the missing HC had been shown the door. Not to make excuses but I can't imagine the circumstances working in your favor considering the circumstances. You need to be motivated to play in a big game, i.e a game that the other team is highly motivated for. Not 'wanting it' worse than they do just ain't gonna cut it.

AND this usually shows up on the "effort" side on the ball -the DEFense. When we give up 500+ yds you know it was a "mail it in and I don't care game".CG 's teams have had quite a few on those.
