Sorry but I won't be going to Istanbul, my grand daughter says no if I want to take my great grand daughter with me. She says it's to dangerous. So my trip has changed to ATL to London then to Dublin for the game. So Sorry but my great grand daughter is more important to me than seeing the great cathedral Sophia. So no photos and I sure wanted to see the cathedral but this time around no way.

Why? I've been all over the world, Paris 10 times, Budapest 2 times Germany 3 times, Costa Rica many times, all of South America many time ie all over this world, speak several languages, Romanian, Spanish, Italian etc so why do I need a baby sitter maybe you but certainly not me.

If you wondered why those flights through Istanbul were so cheap, well, now you know...

You were younger then.

Not that cheap maybe 100$ or so. Yes cheaper but I'd have paid more to see Sophia but after the Airport was bombed a few weeks back and today bombings (maybe yesterday their time) no way not with my great granddaughter.

Why does a flight to Dublin go thru Istanbul?

If OP doesn't visit counties subject to terrorist attack why is he going to Dublin in the first place.

Lastly, does OP think one terrorist attack means he is at greater risk of terrorist attack than he was to begin with?

OP's grandaughter called the shot on this trip, since the great grandaughter is her daughter. Hang in there foggy, maybe another time!

BainbridgeJacket, I can a sure you that foggy is far from being senile. He has a very sharp mind.

coit, "does OP think one terrorist attack means he is at greater risk of terrorist attack than he was to begin with?" With everything going on in this world, would you take a chance with your love ones?

You don't strengthen your case by misspelling 'assure'
