I watched the replay of the FSU game on Sun Sports. They are loaded with good athletes and they are fast. VERY much a division one team and it looks like they are recruiting well. I do know they get a good bit of talent from the panhandle and lower Alabama and those areas are ripe with good football players.

They blitzed FSU like crazy and their QB is one big tough, fast competitor. They sacked Weatherford several times and they stopped FSU's run game cold. Granted FSU had a short practice week, but still.

This Troy team is NO Duke. It's NO Stamford. This is NOT a tune up game. If we don't play our absolute best in all phases we will lose. Don't expect an easy win.

I've been saying that since they were added to the schedule. They're a good team to add to the schedule - it's a game we should win but they're not going to kill our strength of schedule like a d-1AA (Samford) team will.

GT will not look past this one. Troy is good, but our defense is better than FSU's (yeah, I said it). The only problem I see is not establishing the run early. It will force RB to pass early and often. Could this be what RB needs to get over his self-imposed hump? I see GT winning big either way. This team we have is SOLID at all facets of the game, except ST's. I don't see getting beat in any part of the game, until we reach Blacksburg. Another post, but VT will KILL us on ST. I am worried about this game.

Stinks that strength of schedule is no longer a separate component of the BCS rankings.

I think the F$U/Troy game was the best thing that could have happened for us, it shows our guys that Troy is not a cupcake and is very capable of pulling an upset.

Thank god Troy did well against FSU. If they hadn't, they might have snuck up on us.

Sounds like Troy is the new version of the old Southern Miss.
Is Troy the same type of haven for great athletes that couldn't quite make it academically in the sec?

Beej67, I love your avatar or sig or whatever it's called. Nothing more necessary than a good and basic GT !!

Hehe. Thanks. I'm going back to my roots.

It would be nice if we could get to the point where we can worry about the BCS rankings.
