If Tech starts worse than 2-2 he should be fired after game 4. We need to spend big to get an AD capable of finding a HC that’s not worthy of a clown nose. I see 1-3 four games in and zero reasons to keep Tstan, the calamity of football coaching hires and contracts.

Thanks Tstan….bye Tstan. I’ll gift you a greyhound bus ticket back out west to a destination of your choice. And I’ll throw in a 2nd ticket so Collins can sit in your lap on the way.

Hey, did you guys hear that we weren't very good at football the past few years? One could even say that we underperformed expectations this past year.

Who's writing the checks? Or are you going to be one of the cry babies writing an email to the prez demanding he fire people and come up with the money to appease you?

In that case, he could just be the judge of all college football coaching and when he feels any coach needs fired he could just write a letter to the University President, demand the coach be fired, and tell them "go get the money to do it"

We are on a miserable football streak and can’t afford to fire the coach yet. But we also have one of the better collective staffs in the schools history in place in the other sports I care about (Men’s/Women’s basketball, baseball, and golf).

I like T Stan overall. It’s not just a job to him, he cares about Tech sports. I was sitting about 10 feet from him during the baseball regional loss to auburn a few years ago and he looked angrier than I did.

Other sports would have to crater or a big administrative/educational scandal. I recognize football as the moneymaker but we can recover from our current low relatively quickly with a couple decent seasons.

The buyout cost is a moot point - I don't have a link to the article or letter but recall that it;s been said that Stansbury already has most of the buyout money pledged. It still appears that the coach will get the whole season to avoid that buyout cost but it's unclear when Stansbury would resign or be fired if it becomes clear that we can't reach 8 wins next season. I'm referring to the AJC article (link below) as i think that is the basis for the OP's assertion that 2-2 W-L is the time to start. I'm not sure when the right time is to bring on the new AD but giving him a head start seems like a viable alternative and probably a good idea. A little context seems missing so key quotes are below:

Garrett said he did see Stansbury’s further employment at Tech being contingent on the success of Collins’ own tenure.
Garrett said. “It’s time to start winning. I’m of the belief that we need to be at eight or more wins next year.”

So based on the article if we don't win 8 collins goes at the end of the season and it's unclear when Stansbury would leave.
Here;s the link in case you missed that article. So it's not any of us who has to write the prez. The line was already drawn in the sand.

You can certainly write the prez if you wish to complain.

I doubt the number is gonna be 8. That's one angry donor complaining to the papers. I am sure he has a lot of pull, but he isn't running the whole show. Nobody is getting run out town if we make a bowl, IMO

I don't post much but have always wondered why the mods are so tolerant of stupid people. Is it the free speech thing?

It's true that we don't know the magic number for sure and I sure don't know who gets to decide (personally i think 8 is reasonable).
I'm not defending 2-2 but if you're gonna fire both AD and coach ,my point is that I don't think it's wise to do it simultaneously.
So i'm ok with the discussion of when the right time is for that to occur wrst AD.

I've met him a couple times up in NYC -- which in and of itself is a good sign -- and got the same impression. And as others have mentioned, other than the CGC hire, everything else he's done has been good. Even the sucky stuff, like turf and MBS, are the right decisions for our program.
