coit, do you ever just.......be quiet? Maybe even sometimes?

Nope.

Just ask the folks that sit around me at games.

And you know this is a message board. Where people write messages. Like this.

ugh i'd hate to sit next to you at the game. you'd probably yell about Marquise Williams for 3 hours.

Funny you mention that, a girl behind me was a UNC alum and she loves Marquise!

Thanks! GTVA has it in 5.1 audio at 1080p if one is particular. I think I'll ask to see if the TYT wants these going forward. I try to follow as much of their rules as I can in the naming convention, etc. The videos may be too big though. The'yre 13+ GB when I get done.

All hail gespacho, king of the GT video gods!

Can't claim credit for these... Someone else has a better automated system than I. I am hoping to get this better because my process is manual and a little tedious.

gt swagger is a rock star with this type of stuff...

What do y'all use to strip commercials? I have a HTPC setup w/ DVR but could never get the commercial stripping software to do what it's supposed to...it would either screw up and delete parts of shows, or screw up the audio/video sync after some commercial breaks.

your lack of ööööing skillz never ceases to amaze me.. there is no way you could have grown up in the 80s and be so helpless in front of a keyboard.

you are definitely in the target audience for the iPad. Let apple put a bib on you. :rotfl:

My setup is Comcast Xfinity DVR, connected via HDMI and Optical Audio (the only way to get the 5.1 audio instead of the stereo) to a Hauppauge HD-PVR 2. From there, I literally just use the Hauppauge capture software to create a *.ts file. Then, I plop it into Avidemux (great free video editing software) and clip the commercials and remux the whole thing to an *.mkv. (That's the manual process) pulling commercials and in game stuff usually takes 20-25 minutes and the remux takes a few hours.
When I do the game video with radio, I pull the radio feed with Audacity and cut and splice. Put the video into Avidemux and then just overlay the audio and test a few points in the game, particularly where theres a penalty and the refs are talking. At this point, I may run it through WTV converter on a two pass "redo" to reduce the video size...

GT Swagger has a much much more elegant solution:
I think he uses a Hauppauge Colossus (or something like that) with MythTV and then MKVToolnix to completely bypass the remux process. I think MythTV does the commercial removal automatically. Like I said, he's a rock star. I'm hoping to learn Linux well enough some day in order to duplicate his production as it's a lot better and easier than my process in the end.

Edit: If you are who I think you are, I owe you a Georgia Ticket...

Yea, I've got a full HTPC setup with Kodi, WMC, and all that jazz, so I get the raw feed from TV, but I haven't found a piece of software that will auto-strip the commercials without screwing it all up. I have the auto re-encoding setup though to re-encode from my SSD to my NAS so I can keep things nicely backed up, on huge drives, etc., though.

georgia ticket?

Well you are correct sir. I didn't grow up behind a keyboard in the 80s. I was at GT in the 80s. Drinking and slayin' the ladies.

I have used MCEBuddy with limited success. I got the pay version and it works OK... Never perfect though. That's why I'm largely stuck on the manual process.

Didn't you come down to the Georgia game last year, try to get hooked up with some random guy with an extra ticket that never panned out... Ended up going in with some other folks??? Or am I confusing you with someone else?
