U(sic)GA ticket question

So, I really want to go to this game, but I don't have a ticket yet. I found some U(sic)GA student tickets on ebay for pretty cheap, but I would have to worry about getting a fake student ID and sitting with mutt "students"(I can't believe they still call them that). I was wondering if, based on previous games, it will be easy to find cheap tickets for sale at the game? I would almost be willing to drive down there without tickets and try and scalp some if I thought that I could still get a pretty good deal. What do yall think?
 
I can't imagine it would be very difficult, I know one of my friends will be trying to sell his ticket outside the gate.
 
Scalping tickets in Athens is easy - if you have the money. Look to spend between $100-$150 for crappy seats. Finding the one or two actual fans looking to sell their tickets is near impossible. Maybe manellis's friend could just meet up with you somewhere.
 
Has anyone tried to use U(sic)GA student to get into a game in Athens? I wonder how hard it is. I would like to spend less then $100 for 2 tickets if at all possible.

I went to the game in 2002 on a student ticket. I was with a Ugay friend (student) that halfway looked like me. He went in, then threw his ID back outside the gate. I picked it up and used it to get in.

Does anyone know if they just look at the ID for the student tickets, or do they scan them or something. I am trying to figure out if I can just make a fake ID, and then use the student ticket to get in. Thanks

I've done it the last 2 times, and will be doing it saturday as well.

Of course I know the guy...I wouldn't suggest asking random strangers to borrow their student id.

How closely do they check IDs? I mean can I just grab any old UGA ID or does the picture have to somewhat look like me? Is it worth going through the trouble of making a fake or should I just use a buddy's even if they don't really look like me?
 
They just look at the id....no scanning involved. Actually, I have been to a couple of games this year and they didnt even look at the student id.
 
Ever heard the term Your Mileage May Vary?? Think it applies to this 100% and whether you can get away with an old ID, or fake, etc.
 
go to the Holiday Inn on Lumpkin. There are always Tech tickets there as good friends of mine throw a party there before the game.
 
I don't know if they are scanning or anything new this year, but in 2006 I had a friend with me with a student ticket and he was turned away at the gate..... so he just tried a different ticket-taker at the same gate and sailed on through.
 
Thanks for advice guys. I am going to try and make a fake and see what happens. Hopefully they won't be too suspicious of a U(sic)GA "student" wearing all gold, and pocessing a full set of teeth.
 
Just remember if you try and use a U[sic]GA ID dressed in all Tech gear it might not work ;)
