UGA Band?

Having never been to a U(sic)GA game before, I had no idea that their band is called the redcoats. I mean seriously? Redcoats, as in the Brittish Redcoats. Pretty lame if you ask me. Why don't they just call themselves the Marching Nazis or the Pride of the Mother Russia Band. God, I hate U(sic)GA.

Perhaps you have not noticed, red is their primary color. The Georgia Redcoat band has been known by that name for quite a while, nothing to do with British Redcoats.

They were once called the Dixie Redcoat Band. For obvious reasons, they dropped the "Dixie."
