So says Paul Finebaum in the Mobile Register. That tells u something important about the SEC's lack of BIG non-conference games in a 12 game schedule, right? The idea that a team with home gms versus Western Carolina, Troy & Oklahoma St is judged to be the toughest slate.
I'll give them this much, nearly all SEC teams do have 1 tough game. Georgia, Florida & South Carolina have their in-state & ACC rivals as their toughest. LSU has a home tilt with another ACC heavyweight, Virginia Tech, as their main gig. Alabama's meanest match is vs the ACC's Fla St in neutral Jacksonville. Tennessee travels to California & Mississippi St goes to West Virginia. Kentucky has in-state Louisville. That's pretty much the SEC's tests out of the 48 OOC gms that the League plays.
Do you think the Head Coach of Troy is giving the middle fingure to his AD for scheduling trips to Georgia, Florida & Arkansas in the same yr? Or is the HC of little Western Carolina using the F word for his AD inre to bouts at Georgia & Florida? Here's the Finebaum look at the SEC ooc slate.

Well, since they know they have an automatic W at the backend of their OOC schedule they could afford to be a little more agressive than Troy and OK State for their other two FBS opponents.

UGag's OOC is pitiful. Not a single top 25 team.

Yet, they'll probably play more top 25 teams than anyone due to their conference play. For us, bring on WF and Duke's of the world. I wish we could play UT, UF, and AU every year. Much more interesting rivalries than some of our ACC foes.

As for Ugag, it is funny to see some here making fun of their OOC when we're one of their teams. Oh well... can't wait for us to play ND.. that is about our only decent OOC game.

What a shock, "Geetee" shows up to defend UGAg and laud the SEC yet again.

Hmmm, WF finished #18....yet you say they make the ACC an easier conference than the one with Vandy, Miss St, and Ol' Miss?

We played 4 teams that finished in the top 25...and so did UGa. Sure, we played Troy and Samford, they played West. Ky and UAB.

You may prefer playing the SEC teams, fine. But the facts don't back up your contentions.

Troy's AD is a UGA alum, a DE under Vince Dooley in the mid-late 70's, an All State QB in '73 from Central Macon here in the state, and a DB coach under Pat Dye at Auburn.

..and you wouldn't? How awesome would it be to host and travel to teams like Florida, Tennessee, Auburn, Ole Miss, LSU, Alabama, etc...??? What passion and excitement that'd bring for the flats! Pretend otherise and flame my post all you want...but deep down you know watching our jackets playing those teams would be more fun than Wake, Duke, NCST, NC, VT, UM, etc..

Pardon me? I don't think I understand. Their last regular season game will be their second toughest (behind Florida), if not the toughest.

He's referring to the fact that we've lost the last 5. Get used to it; it's a recurring theme that's unfortunately warranted. My guess is some won't stop the chant even if WHEN we win this year.

I enjoy and look forward to the occasional forays into SEC country like we did with Auburn and are going to with Alabama, etc...

But for the year to year rivalries competing with the ACC teams for the championship is just as entertaining to me.

We've been in the ACC for, what? 25-30 years now? We're where we need to be and where we fit best. Quit living in the past.

Not saying we can't lose again. Just saying that this time they will have to earn a victory instead of the gift they received last year. And no, I'll never get used to it.

Check that! I'll go on record now and say our guys will kick their mangy arses up one end of the field and down the other until their noses run the color of their home jerseys.

Edited to rename a part of their lower anatomy.

Same here. It's a good barometric check of how good we really are when we play the Tuberville's and Saban's. I occassionally want to see how we hang with some of the better coaches out there.
