They certainly had the easiest BCS bowl. No way they should be ahead of USC IMHO.

Honestly --I cannot say that 'there is no way UGA should be ahead of USC'. Both teams finished 11-2, UGA finished with seven straight wins --including four ranked teams. USC finished with five straight impressive wins --including three ranked teams. UGA lost to SC and UT, USC to Stanford and Oregon.

Actually, I would have liked to have seen UGA and USC play one another.

The tough part now is listening to all of the Majic Market UGA Nadlickers talk about how damn great they are. The whinning started with the AJC and their article from the Kennel Director Adams and his plea to the NCAA for a playoff. Odd that a full page article about the Head Dawg appears in the paper after the BCS game.

Heck it took forever to get my coffee at McDonald's today, all the happy workers there talking about being No 2.

We really need the B-Ball team to beat the Nadlickers, just to quiet them down.

As would I have. This is what happens when you take care of business at the end of the year. My guess is a pre-season #1 or #2 ranking.

What do you mean? if you're talking regular season, LSU lost their last game just before the SECCG. Yet, finished #1. I hate the SEC...two National Champs in a row. Yuk!

..and to the person who said strength of schedule doesn't matter in this voting, are you telling me their loss to Stanford and the fact that USC's opponents averaged 5.4 wins vs UGAg's 7.1 wins and that USC played six eligible bowl teams to UGAg's 10 didn't matter matter. Not statistically speaking, but voters know the strength of the SEC when they vote.

That is why last night's win pisses me off even more. This further cements that reputation and I cannot wait to finally beat these guys...its just been way too long. We haven't beaten them since the year Dungeons and Dragons came out.

It doesn't factor into the opinions of the voters?

Some of you people need to worry more about GT and less about UGA.

To a degree it does, but it's more W/L than SOS.

And I believe my second post was taken wrong - at least by UGATee. UGA took care of business down the stretch and earned the #2 spot. They didn't earn a spot in the BCS title game since they lost to their divisional champs, but they did deserve where they ended.

Don't worry UGAIV, I wasn't insulting your beloved dogs. I was actually complimenting them.

Well I for one am very glad that they reached #2 because they are very deserving of that place.
Be honest now, have you ever been around a dog that didn't smell like "number 2" !!!!!!:laugher::eek:

You're slipping up geetee...that was a little bit out of character. The Tech nerd that you are playing would certainly know that D&D came out more than seven years ago. Try to step up your game...did you have something to drink tonight?

I'm not talking much about it and neither are the ones who know who our 4th string quarterback is. UGA finished 2nd without an SEC title. UGA drew an "unlucky hand" and had to play Hawaii in the Sugar Bowl. This season isn't near as satisfying as the #3 finish in 2002/3 with the SEC title. This is as about as empty as fan could feel about finishing 2nd in the country. I love college football, but this season finished very, very quietly for everyone outside of Baton Rouge. A UGA/USC Rose or Sugar Bowl would've been a better indicator of each team's ability. I personally think it's an even match.

There is no trophy for second and I'm firm believer that chest beating anything other than finishing first is for losers.

Now, the high finish is great for exposure, merchandise sales, and recruiting. That will payoff in future seasons. I just hope USC, Florida, and Ohio State continue to get all of the preseason love for next year and UGA comes in ranked outside the top 5.

UGA should open at #1 pre-season next year.

Until UGA wins a MNC, there will be no preseason #1 ranking for UGA. In the media, UGA is much like Texas before their BCS title win a few years ago. Good, but not good enough for the guessers.

USC, Ohio State, Florida, LSU, and Oklahoma are more likely preseason #1 than UGA. You can also add WVU to that list due to their conference network affiliation with ABC/ESPN and their performance against the Sooners.

I would love to be 'bragging' that Ga Tech finished second in the AP poll at the end of any season. They earned the right to bragg about it or pound their chest and proclaim it or play "Larry Musnon's Greatest Hit from the 80s" while they bragg about it, etc.

As much as I hate them, when the final results are in, you have to give credit where it is due.
