So I'm planning on heading up to the cesspool Nov. 25th to watch us beat up on the pups. My question is this:
I've been to Athens several times for the Tech/Ugag game, but I've always gotten tickets from a friend or georgia alum or something like that. I have no such connection this year (at least not yet), and am wondering if I would be better off buying on eBay or something like that, or just heading up early on Saturday to try and buy tickets off the street. Considering Ugag's down season and the horrible record of support from the fanbase, I'm thinking tickets from a disencanted dog fan could come fairly cheap.
Just wanting any advice/past experience. Thanks.

I'd think you would be able to scalp them this year for not too terribly much over face value, especially if they're not great seats.

I agree with RP. You should be able to secure tickets pretty inexpensive that day. Especially if the dogs lose a couple of more games. :laugher:

If we didn't already have tickets, this is what we would do.

Not a Ugag fan, but to say they have poor fan support (esp when comparing their numbers to ours) is quite a stretch. Ugag is one of the top schools in attendance every year...see the link below.

Even in 1999 when they lost four games AND lost to us, their attendance was still there. see link..

If we could get our fans to show that kind of support on a continual basis and not just show up for the big games, perhaps our AA would have half the cash as those mutts.

Does anyone have our attendence statistics from this year? It's seemed better than the past couple of years, probably because we're performing better.

Thanks.

GO TECH!

I'm going to disagree with most of you. The best way is to buy scalped tickets but don't expect them cheap and don't expect them to be next to each other. The UGA/GT game will have a huge attendance no matter how bad UGA sucks this year. I got dragged to a UGA/USC game and tried to scalp tickets. Lowsy game to attend and the tickets were still $100 for two. We ended up tailgating until the game started then watching it back at the apartment.

Average so far is 50,447. Last year was 51,607.

We will probably end up close to the same unless Duke attendance is really poor.

First question: I agree that many seats will not be used, especially if uga looks bad in losing to UF.
The problem is that many of those unused tickets won't be in athens that day. The ones that come from the Hahira and Jesup and Claxton season tix holders will have passed thru the hands of Encore and Empire Tickets first. It will still be a relative bargain though for the tickets that are there.

Secondly, uga will always have more rear ends in their stadium. We should and will have more support now that Rad is here, but we will simply not overcome the redneck populus that is intimidated by "those Mr. knowitalls from Ga. Tech." Personally, I hope to keep it that way.

Much of last year's number came from two sellouts: Clemson and Georgia. After Miami, I would expect this year's average attendence will shoot up and hopefully the Duke game won't bring it too far down.
