interesting first game. I do not believe Ugag will compete for the sec east crown. I see UF, UT, and USC as definite losses and dont they put LSU on their schedule too.

I think they struggled with a weak BC team and I think Clem's son may pull the upset with the first game of the season.

sorry but still laughing about that BBALL game

I don't see any UGA game this year as a definite loss. Their defensive backfield was decimated by graduation. Outside of that, they're returning alot of folks. Their offense should be pretty good if they can keep a healthy tailback.

UF has a new coach, so they're a wildcard at this point. They have a lot of talent, but without Spurrier, it's hard to tell how they'll be. The UT game is in Athens and could go either way. UT lost alot of talent along the defensive line. USC also was hit by graduation pretty hard. Georgia beat them up and down the field last year and lost because of red zone snaffu's.

I expect UGA to win 2 of those 3 games. Clemson will be interesting, but the only way UGA loses that game is if they overlook Clemson. Since that is the first game, anything can happen, but I don't think Clem will bring enough defense to the table.

Also, they do not play LSU this year. They do play Alabama in Tuscaloosa though. That will be a tough game.

I don't know where UGA will end up, but this is a good year for them to make alot of noise in the East, as there are no obvious great teams. Their big question marks are the defensive backfield and red zone offense, IMO.

Bugboy, I agree the schedule favors Georgia to have a good year. What irritated me the most about our season last year, we had a great schedule and flubbed it with some bad decisions during the season.

I'm not exactly thrilled to admit it, but this could be a pretty strong year for the dogs. They MANHANDLED us on the lines last year and they should be strong on both fronts again this year. We've got to see some BIG improvement on OUR line play if we're gonna beat them in Athens this year. Like it or not, but MOST of UGAG's losses were VERY close ones (USC, Auburn) even the loss to the Gators wasn't that bad. The future is looking up in Athens and we've REALLY got our work cut out for us if we wanna beat them consistently.

Oh yeah, I don't think Clemson will be much of a problem for the dogs this year. It IS the season opener where there are many uncertanties, but Clemson COULD be in for a long day.

<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">didn't UF have 4 int's and UGag lost by 15. If anything this will be a breakthrough year for USC. Holtz has recruited well the last couple of years and that should pay dividends.

I also think AU will be a tough game. Everyone may think I am just being a homer but I think you will start to see some weaknesses in Richt's style this year.

Ahso,
I agree about MR's decision-making in crunch time. A few more calls like last year and the UGag fan base is gonna start screaming.

Hey guys. I'm CERTAINLY not trying to sing the praises of UGAG too much, just trying to be realistic. Other than UF and UT, I don't see them losing. They are gonna want BLOOD against USC after losing two straight years and EVEN MORE so against Auburn who was VERY lucky to win last year. Chalk up Richt's bad play calling to rookie mistakes under pressure. I beelieve he'll be better off as will the doggies.

On a BRIGHTER note, I see GT being MUCH better off this year as well! I just hope we can take it to the dogs up in Athens!!

Oh yeah as far as Auburn is concerned, unless their new coordinators can work some magic, this could be a big rebuilding year for them. They have MAJOR issues on offense beginning at QB. They looked DREADFUL in the Peach Bowl against UNC.

GOOO JACKETS!! STING EM!!

I see Georgia having a pretty decent year, but not the kind of year their fans are expecting. I expect them to win early as they always do, as most of the teams in the first half of the schedule are second tier... I think they will start 4-0.. beating Clemson.. then having 2 weeks to prepare for USC... Northwestern St. and NM St are scrimmages... a loss to Bama and Tenn... Tenn will be seeking revenge.. and will get it..they will win the next two... but lose to Fla.. Ole Miss will be much tougher for them this year... and Auburn should be in stride by their game with the dogs.. I expect Ga to lose one of those games... and of course.. they will lose to Tech... if the Bama game goes their way... they finish 8-4.. if it doesnt .. they go 7-5... the best they can expect will be 9-3...

Ga returns alot of talent as always.. but they do not have alot of depth... the defense in general will be average... revamped secondary.. losses at linebacker... and not alot of depth on the DL... The offense should be strong... but question marks at running back and again depth on the OL...

Tenn will be the team to beat in the East... and probably the SEC...

Well, here are UGA's swing games (games where the other team has a decent chance of winning):

Clem
USC
UT
UA-Tuscaloosa
UF
Auburn
Ole Piss
Tech

Of those 8 games, I think they'll beat OM, Clem and USC. That leaves 5 games where the other team has a good shot at them. Of those 5 games, only Tech and UT are in Athens. Also, UGa usually wins in Auburn, historically anyways.

Keep in mind that it's really up for grabs in that conference. I don't think there are any great teams this year. If they get their act together, they could reel off 10 regular season wins.

I won't predict how we do against them yet. It's too late in the season for that. Hopefully, we'll be clicking like we were in '98 and '00.

I'm not going to take Richt over Granny until I see a lot more game day coaching from him, not with SC recruiting like they are. i think we can forget about bama for a while. UGA will be a helluva emotional game for Clemson, and they just might have a shot. Otherwise, UT, UF, And GT is their season, they're sure not going to win all 3.

The biggest question mark with Richt is his lack of quick decisions when the game is on the line. Possibly, he will learn from last year, but you never know. Many times the difference in a win or loss is that one little decision during a game.
