Heard a few folks speak of it today, not 100% confirmed by any means, but rumor is A SWARM OF YELLOWJACKETS was the cause of passing

Fallen to new depths? This gets replayed every 5-6 years it seems. Also seems the lifespans are getting shorter.

Well when you inbreed the inbred...the quality of product isn't quite the same. If you ever watch that dog on TV about the only thing he can do is walk in circles for 8 seconds before he runs out of breath.

There ain’t no way that uga would ever allow an article confirming that it’s mascot was killed by a swarm of yellow jackets see the light of day.

can't a georgia tech person write an article? is there even confirmation he's dead?

University of Georgia Mascot Dead: Allergic Reaction to Yellow Jacket Attack in Savanah- (Athens, Ga)
University of Georgia fans tonight are mourning the untimely death of Uga X, the University's tenth English Bulldog mascot, whose name is 'Que'.
The line of pure white English bulldogs, which epitomizes everything Georgia, has been owned by the Frank W. "Sonny" Seiler family of Savannah, Ga., since Uga I first graced the campus in 1956.
"While at the home of the Seiler family, Que encountered an underground yellow jacket nest and was stung over 70 times. Despite lifesaving measures from the Seiler family and North Savanah Fire and Rescue, Que was pronounced dead at 8:42pm Thursday evening." said University of Georgia spokeswoman Katie Bradshaw.
University of Georgia is the only major college that buries its mascots within the confines of the stadium. Ugas I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII and VIII are buried in marble vaults near the main gate in the embankment of the South stands. It is anticipated that Que will be given similar burial.
Athens resident Allen "Ted" Jenkins shared his feelings with the Athens Herald-Banner, "It is a terrible day for the University but you can't help but respect the irony of his death. Killed by yellow jackets. Kinda makes you wonder about life."
It is unclear at this time about the University's plans to replace the mascot. Over the past few years several groups on campus have called to end the tradition of using the English Bulldog breed citing its connection to slavery in the south.
"We really need to take this opportunity to review our schools connection to the past and make changes that show the school is on a new, better path," said Chandra 'Oats' Jacobvich, President of United Against the Past.
Athens resident Jeff Folks commented at Athens Online, "The crazy people who want to get rid of Uga are what is wrong with America. These people should have their lips sown together and their fingers broken so they can no longer communicate their insanity."
Funeral arrangement will be announced next week.

this seems like a trolling joke.. its great either way

This is a troll. There is no way they'd let it be known that UGA was killed by yellow jackets. Also I'm no fan of UGA, nor a fan of cheering for the death of any innocent creature. Que did not decide to be inbred or even UGA. Free UGA!

He is not a bastion of good health, lol, that's for sure. I would have preferred Bevo skewered him in that Sugar Bowl run-in a few years back
