That was undoubtedly the ugliest win I have ever watched. However, it is still a big W.

GO JACKETS

There are no style points now. Winning is all that counts.
However, it is hard to call this ugly when TC goes for 150 and the Johnsons go for 4.

Reggie going 13 for 300 with a pick 6 was a little weak, I will agree.

On the positive though, I would bet that RB's touchdown per completion ratio is pretty strong.

It's great to have a team good enough and mentally tough enough to win in spite of the mistakes!

We are one win away from Jacksonville!

Ugly win? Football isn't about looking pretty. Its about winning. We did that.

People who expect to win every time by five touchdowns (or you might say, make no mistakes) will never be satisfied.

I remember an Ohio State team that won a recent national championship winning more ugly games than they deserved to.

Being able to win "ugly" games and overcome our own mistakes is a sign that we have turned the corner.

And yes, I'm drinking the cool-aid. Sorry if you aren't.

If that's the ugliest win you ever saw you haven't seen much football. STs and pass % were ugly, but the offense in the 4th quarter was beautiful. Took over and dominated when they had to.

And one extra note, however relevant:

The "ugliest win" I've ever seen was last year against Clemson, simply because that was the ugliest game I have ever seen. Nothing about tonight reminded me of that game in the least, and pales in comparison.

Was it really ugly??

I didn't get to see it, just listened on the radio.

BUT....

Wrap her up in a big brown paper poke Mr. storekeeper, I'm taking her home w/me anyway, I like'm ugly.

yeah, it wasn't pretty, but I'll take an ugly win on the road anytime...this game had me concerned all week and they took care of business in the 4th qtr.

As people noted the defense gave up zero TDs and key was forcing State to try those FG attempts in the 3rd qtr.

Choice had maybe his best game of his GT career -- he's really become a workhorse back there the past few weeks.

In the 40 years of watching Tech football, I have seen way too many ugly wins and losses. This game was one of the best "ugly" wins that I have seen because of what was riding on the outcome and how the Jackets were able to get the job done.

On the road, night game, conference game, against an opponent that had beaten BC, beaten FSU and lost all three conference games by a TD or less, and you put yourself in a position to take care of business in the 4th quarter and win the game.

All this, plus the fact you gave up both an INT and a KO return for TD's ...and you win the game to go to 7-2 (5-1). A win is indeed a win, particularly when it comes to conference games on the road. Very happy with the way things turned out last night.
