Who do you think is for real?

Auburn
Iowa
Kansas
Missouri
South Florida
TCU
Wisconsin

I know it's early in the season, but it's something to talk about.

I don't see any of those as national championship caliber. I could see TCU, Iowa, and South Florida competing for their conference championships (and BCS bowls) but would be surprised if any of the other four end the year in the top 20.

They have a solid season year in and year out.
If they can get by Utah and BYU, they might just get an at-large BCS birth.

Also let me add: Boise State is most definitely NOT the real deal. The 5th ranked team in the country should beat UC Davis by more than 20 points. They are going to get exposed soon.

I don't know if Boise will get "exposed" with their schedule, but that schedule will do them absolutely no favors as 1-loss BCS teams begin to recover.

If TCU goes undefeated, I think they deserve a BCS bid.

I can see us ending up 12-1 & USF ending up 11-0 and both being ignored and playing in the Orange Bowl

WTF is Oklahoma doing ranked? 2-2 with wins over Idaho State and Tulsa. Wisconson may have a crappy schedule, but they've beat everyone on it.

Process of elimination:

7) Kansas- vs OU, @TT, vs Neb, @ Tex, vs Miz -could lose 4 ..pretenders

6) Iowa- vs Mich, @ Wisc, @ Ohio St -could lose all 3 ..pretenders

5) Missouri- vs Neb, @ Okl St, vs Tex, vs Kan --tough games are at home, still lose 2-3 ..solid year

4) Wisconsin- @ Ohio St, vs Iowa, vs Mich, @ Hawaii --huge game this weekend, if they beat Ohio St they could run the table, Hawaii is tricky scheduling, could lose 1 or 2 ..solid team

3) TCU- @AF, @BYU, vs Utah --could run the table, but I see 1 loss ..very solid season

2) Auburn- @Ark, @LSU, @UGA, vs Bama --ok this is tough, after all it's the SEC!, 3 games on the road, but all winnable games, may slip up and lose one on the road, but if not then you could see two undefeated teams in this years Iron Bowl ..could be a big season

1) South Florida- vs Cin, @Pitt --agruably the 4th best team of this list, but the winner of the Cincinnati/S Florida game has a legit shot at going undefeated ..could be a huge year

While I wouldn't say Kansas is "for real," I'm glad QB Todd Reesing is graduating before we play them in Lawrence next year...he's your typical Big XII beast.

I'm going with the South Florida Bulls... something about their win against FSU told me that it was more than just FSU sucking it up... these guys were clicking, and I think my choice also has a little to do with the fact that I'm hoping they put up big numbers against Miami at the end of the season...

Otherwise, I think the Iowa Hawkeyes could get it done on the national level. I feel like they're for real. I guess we'll see this weekend, though, when they take on Michigan, who I think is gonna have a stellar season as well.

I have watched Cincinatti games all year and they are a very good team...I wouldn't be surprised to see them beat USF this weekend. well coached, good talent...btw my wife is from there that is why I have kept up with them.
