  • "James Franklin. His coaching peers know he is full of it."

Amen to that James Franklin quote.

Big Mullen fan. Counting on him to make that sec east half decent again.

Who the hell is underrating Petersen anymore?

Some Taggart haters, man. The guy hasn't even coached a game at FSU, yet. I think the Pac-12 is a bit underrated across the board, mostly because people don't stay up late enough to watch their primetime games. I don't think it has anything to do with coaching. I remember Petersen's move from Boise to Washington as a pretty big event.

I can see Franklin being unpopular but overrated? He won at Vandy and he's had Penn State in the top 10 two years in a row.

The same things they say about him (great recruiter but not great coach, succesful because of his assistants) they say about Dabo, and he's universally liked.

PSU is the college football version of the Catholic Church. They are so lucky to even have a program at this point.

I just don't get raping children. That shit makes me want to kill another human being very personally.

These are interesting lists...

I was under the impression Kirk Ferentz was highly esteemed by his peers. I'm curious how else they account for his success in a place where recruits are hard to come by. Reminds me a bit of Dan Snyder at KSU. How he can stay competitive against his peer teams is amazing.

I don't know what to make of the underrated list... all of those guys are highly respected who are universally admired for their successes. I think the 'underrated' label may be more a factor of the limitations of their programs than a genuine perspective about their abilities. I guess we'll see now vis-a-vis Dan Mullen now that he's got the keys to a Ferrari. Let's hope he drives over that dawg in the road ahead of him.

On that note, if someone gave Kiffin another chance in a major he would be very good. His offenses are no joke.

It is just a matter of time. Plus, he doesn't have to worry about Layla anymore.

"If you had the No. 1 recruiting class in the country every year [you'd win like Nick Saban]. He shows up at every single game with a better roster than the teams he 's playing. … If you count cheating and getting the best players in the country as part of running a program, he's the best in the country. It's like saying an NFL coach is the best coach in the league if he gets 25 first-round picks every year."

heh.

And now UGAG has hired baby Saban. I hear from my Athens friends Kirby is having envelops of cash delivered to high school coaches left and right.

I think Franklin has done a good job at both Vandy and PSU. :dunno:

He’s a good recruiter. And they’ve been right in the cusp of the playoffs.

Better than Johnson has done.
Dude’s got a chopper to ride around in

Taggert can coach and recruit. We will never get another Jesuit guy.

Bill Snyder. Dan was the cat that owned the LA Clippers until the speech police caught up with him.
