After reading over the three boards today and yesterday, I've noticed one outstanding trend - MOST Tech fans are behind this hire. The inter-board skirmishes have subsided and the fanbase as a whole seems to be really excited about the upcoming future of Tech football. I, for one, can't wait until next Spring to see how CPJ will begin to mold this team and this fanbase.

Ticket sales will surely be up next year as many of those who have withheld revenue have already vowed to return. We will also be picking up many GSU fans - though not for season tickets.

It is an exciting time in Tech football. We will take one short step back next year to take one giant leap forward in years to come.

I'm on board 100%

I was a Hatcher guy from the start but the more I read about CPJ the more I like him. I think he's Hatcher++.

The presser yesterday just set the table for me. I'm super stoked and I can't wait to see how the next few weeks unfold into spring practice and how that will lead to the next season.

It's a great time to be a GT fan!

This describes me as well, I'm a bit worried about the new staff (keeping JT and Giff), the recruits and our depth at QB relative to PJ's system but I think my doubts will gradualy dissipate in the coming weeks as those questions begin to be answered.

Hoping for a great season and our eventual return to greatness:fingersx:

I will always be behind our coach, becuase he represents Georgia Tech. Georgia Tech is who I love. As long as a coach does nothing to scar the Georgia Tech name, I am behind him 100%. The players really need everyone to be enthusiastic, because they are the ones that have been through alot. We as fans can not imagine the emotions they have been through over this entire season.

GO JACKETS!!! BEAT FRESNO STATE!!

I am excited for next season...sucks I will be graduating though. I guess I picked the wrong 4 years to goto GT.

YOU picked the wrong years? When I was there, we went 1-9-1, 1-10, etc.

But it was still fun to go to the games, and Bill Curry made us improve a lot.

Well I for one am not going to say anything bad about CPJ for fear of getting kicked off any board or completely alienated.

So, I will say not really anything. I am not excited except we have finally gotten the search over with. Too much money IMHO for a guy that I don't think will take us anywhere new.

All right start blasting me one...two...

I wasnt totally sold on PJ but I gotta admit that I kidda like the hire. He has my support 100%

One note- I don't think we ever got the final details of the contract.

Just be glad they didn't include '79-'81!!! You saw more wins last year than some of us saw in three.

I will support PJ, but I have a nagging fear that his system could keep us from getting top offensive recruits that want to play on Sundays. If we are at a serious athletic disadvantage, defenses can stop PJ's system and it would take years to not only change back to a pro style, but also to recruit talent to execute it. Not to say the current team executes it very well.

Ain't that the truth. 6 wins between 79/80/81 and 4 of those were in one year. Don't forget that UGA also won their only championship and in one of those years (forget which) we not only won only 1 game but also lost to 5 teams that only had about 6 or 7 wins between them. That's right, 5 teams who beat ONE or TWO other teams COMBINED all year beat us 5 times.

And what about Chan's offense was able to get us "guys who want to play on sundays?" And how did that turn out? We got a couple good RBs who couldn't win us more than 7 games, and one WR we had no idea how to use, in 6 years.

You don't pick your system around what kids want to do, you pick it around what wins games. Because in the end, kids want to win games.

I could just as easily say that his system will bring in NFL caliber linemen, fullbacks, and running backs, and that it will make our school a regular destination for "Atheltic QBs," which are the future of College FB anyways.

If he can run that offense successfully with Navy's talent, he can surely run it with ours - even if the talent level dips slightly.

Please tell me which of the teams that they beat in the last 4 years has ACC level talent. Like I said, I hope he's a winner, but the resume isn't as overwhelming as many seem to think. Beating Duke, Temple, other service academies, and directional Michigan schools doesn't scream automatic success in a BCS conference as many here think.

For what it's worth, PJ was probably the best candidate we had. Too many of the candidates didn't have actual D-1 head coaching experience or were big question marks (RN). I'm hopeful, but he's going to have to prove it and like with Gailey, I'll show patience and allow him a fair chance. If we had the internet in 1988, Bobby Ross would have been long gone after 2-9 and 3-8.
