Uniform thread redux. Oh you knew it was coming.

I have lit the fuse again. This time, we have some relevant material to base opinions on.

Upon further review, after (almost) 1 game, these unis are looking mighty sharp. From the intraweb broadcast, the new mustard pants appear to match the new gold helmets. The numbers are bigger and easier to read. Those pants stripes are as bad as expected. I don't know how they'll look during the day, but they look awesome under the lights.

The good news at Georgia Tech is that the Yellow Jackets will now be wearing white jerseys at home. The bad news is that they've traded in this and this for this -- woof! You know you're scraping the bottom of the design barrel when your uniform is based on an Arena League template. Thing is, the jersey could've been soooo much better if that horiztonal chest stripe had been left out, as you can see in this Photoshop job. Too bad they didn't go that route. Lots of additional photos here and here.
 
i've hated them from the beginning, but i must say, in-game with full pads, they didn't look to bad. i almost liked em for a minute...
 
I do like the fact that the uni gold matches the helmet very well --the vegas gold just didn't cut it in this area. I'm also a fan of white at home.
 
Seems like in pictures or on TV the hat matches the rest of the Gold better than it does in person.

I just don't think there is any way to match a Gold hat to a Gold shirt or pants. ND may come as close as possible

Whatever the S/As want I suppose.

I know the GT logo was made bigger last year, but it looks even bigger this year.
 
They didn't look bad in person...because they're too far away to see the stupid chest stripe :).
 
In person, they did look good.

BUT!

They were absolutely beautiful on the jumbotron. On the big screen, the helmets and pants matched colors very, very well and had a darker tint to them. I don't know if it will look that way for all television games, but it was certainly very nice.
 
Not to bring the board to a halt, but the Blue version of the jerseys looked damn good.
 
Still don't like them, never will, pants blow, helmets green, chest stripe, AFL, etc.
 
The uniforms look outstanding in the high stepping to the endzone and intercepting passes. Lets hope we see lots of that the rest of the season.
 
They looked much better under the lights of Bobby Dodd Stadium.

Much more vibrant.
 
I stated my opinion a few weeks ago but to add, on t.v. last night, I kept thinking about the Old Negro Leagues (or similar era) and they're cotton dull looking uniforms when any color other than white was used. That is what the pants looked like to me; very workmanlike, old timey.

I don't have a problem with the rest personally, but the top looks modern and the pants look like they're for "remember when" game.

But they're growing on me and they are different so what the heck.
 
I think with some tweeks, they could be sweet.

Take off the line on the chest.
Replace the two lines down the pants with a single solid one.
Make the "old gold" shinier and less olive, especially on the pants.
