Updated bowl projections (ESPN)

If we end up in the Liberty Bowl, I hope we play UCF. I've seen some projections with that matchup.

But at this point, I'm still holding out hope for a better bowl.

I would MUCH rather play in the Liberty than a bottom tier acc bowl game. Fortunately this will me moot if we can knock off the canes or the dawgs. I wonder where we'd end up if we're 7-4?

I think the Liberty Bowl is the best bowl in play for us even at 7-4, unless VPI gets an at-large BCS berth. It would also help if FSU loses to Florida and in the Championship game to finish 7-5.

If all that comes to pass I could still see us in the Gator Bowl.

[/ QUOTE ]If we're 7-4, that means we're at least 4-4 in the conference with wins over Auburn and Miami or UGA. We will certainly be in Charlotte or Orlando in that scenario (both better bowls than Liberty).

Champs has the best location, but I assume they wouldn't want us 2 years in a row.

Liberty Bowl is superior to Muffler Bowl in every way. Liberty Bowl has better location, better payout, longer tradition, better time slot (1 PM vs. 11 AM) and better coverage (ESPN vs. ESPN2).

NCAA didn't speak to postseason play, so I'm guessing we're okay for playing in a bowl.

of the two, I agree that the Liberty Bowl is the better option.

Thanks - I was thinking in terms of opponent but those are all pretty important.

I had not thought about that - in terms of opponent, the Champs is probably best with the Big XII team. Big East also-ran (Muffler) vs. CUSA champ (Liberty) is a tough call.
