If you believe these weights that they give, you DON'T follow football very closely.
First of all, that is a pretty obnoxious comment..and misguided.
Secondly, a GT football coach told me that these measurables...particularly for the younger kids are dead-on.
In the past this was not always the case, Joe Hamilton had two inches added to his 5-9 frame. About that same time the staff listed Jesse Tarplin at 6-3 and went in to measure 6-2 at the NFL combine...Charlie Rogers was listed at 5-10 then went to the NFL combine and shrank 1 inch to 5-9.
He also added that the lineman in particular can fluctuate 10 lbs. easily depending on when they weight them around workouts, season, etc. The current staff does not play around with them so much...probably because Gailey takes a more NFL style "it is what it is" approach. Heck...they even went to the trouble of changing Durant Brooks from 198 lbs. to 202 lbs.
Example is KMike. We had every reason to make him 6-2, 230 last year...but we listed him at 6-0, 225. At the NFL combine he measured 6-0 and 228.
Matter of fact, our heights were dead on. The weights fluctuate more with these kids, particularly the big ones, between fall prior to the college season and the spring NFL combine. You will see they are pretty darn accurate.

That being said...most high schools and self-reported high school numbers are off by up to two inches and 20 lbs....and don't even start talking about forty times!
