USA today's Myerberg's CFB ranks kicks off with #125:GSU

You realize that the Ga. SOuthern game will be an absolute dogfight in 2014?

You are talking about the State vs southern game right?
If so you probably going to be wrong about that.. I am very supportive for state but there is no way they have the talent to go head to head against southern. Their 2013 class was a little better than Southern but every other recruiting class(09-12)have been pretty bad. Now if state can land 5 classes consecutively like their 2013 class then the talent gap may get smaller.

Trent Miles is a hell of a coach though so who knows maybe it will be closer than I expect and you could end up being right about it being a dogfight

I didn't see an answer so ill ask again. Why is Ga State rushing into FBS so quickly? Southern makes sense to me because they have developed a tradition and a fanbase.

State has neither.

I don't know this for a fact but I know they're D-1 in baseball and I think, basketball as well. That would probably explain why the football is trying to get there as well.

What justification do you have to continue to say this? Why do you think it will be a dogfight?

Somehow, I don't find that surprising.:rotfl:

Who is No. 124? This team lost its six games against eventual bowl teams in 2012 by a combined score of 278-75.

Who is No. 123? This team's coach graduated from the same college as a one-term senator from Minnesota.

Who is No. 122? The first game this team every played came against a school famous for producing (among other folks) a forward for the Indiana Pacers, a former All-Pro receiver for the St. Louis Rams and a former outfielder for the Royals, Reds, Red Sox and Mets.

Who is No. 121? This team's new coach served as its offensive coordinator during the program's second-highest scoring season over the last decade.

You shouldn't.

Dumb argument is dumb.

Seriously now, in the 70s when I was at Tech I don't recall anyone every calling GA State "GSU". When Ga Southern got a football team in 80 something they went by GSU from the get to. Thats why I give the nod to Southern.

Both schools are moving away from the GSU branding (at least athletically), so it's a moot point.

New Mexico state.

That sounds an awful lot like Detroit, so I'll guess Eastern Michigan. IIRC, they were pretty bad last year.

I'm going with my birthplace, Buffalo.
Akron

— Who is No. 119? This team's coach is the only one in its division – and one of two in its entire conference – to lead a team to a BCS bowl.
My guess Buffalo

UTSA is in WAC. Who is the other coach in WAC to have led a team to a BCS bowl?
