The Berhalter Era kicked off last night in a friendly against Panama. Lot of new faces on the field. Solid 3-0 performance. ööööing Zardes though. He back and worse than ever.

I just don’t get how you can play soccer for a living and completely avoid developing any touch whatsoever. It really is remarkable. I can literally find 10 dudes playing pickup after work with better foot skills. How is that possible?

And how do we keep putting him on the field?! Looks like he’s here to stay too with the Berhalter/Crew connection.

Some great material from last night to add to this compilation:

Will get a better read this weekend against the Ticos. Panama squad was even less experienced than US.

What's even more remarkable is that he manages to play on the NATIONAL TEAM with such a lack of touch. It's not like he's blazing fast, plays tough defense, or has a great shot to make up for it. I literally don't get what he brings to the table at that level.

    2-0 win vs Costa Rica.

Too bad that’s not 6 points in WC qualifying over the past couple of days.

USMNT still sucks. Lost pre-Gold Cup friendly to Jamaica tonight at home, 1-0.

Simmer down. This was our "B" team. We were playing people to see who would make the last roster spots. That being said, we looked extremely sloppy and not well put together. While they could have had others, that shot that Jamaica scored on was an absolute screamer...

I believe the announcers said this was only the 3rd home loss to a Caribbean national team since 1969. Been able to win these matches with whoever we trotted out.

This should have been a cake walk, like playing Trinidad & Tobago.

I would like to think several of the players that would normally be on the B team are playing in Poland. This might better be described as the C+ team

Sent Sargent home but kept Zardes....Berhalter needs to stop it with his columbus ties to Zardes. Granted, Sargent didn't look great last night, but there's no way I take no touch Zardes over Sargent. Especially since you called him up and now he can't play the U-20 World Cup.

Misguided as öööö, if you aren't going to take him he should be in Poland with the U20

Agree Sargeant should have either been in Poland or on the roster. I thought he was the one bright spot Wednesday. I was in the stands though so could have missed things that were apparent on the telecast.

Weah could make this roster right now. Midfield - wingers in particular were pitiful.

Jamaica played some pretty embarrassing soccer for a friendly. Their goal was beautiful. But they proceeded to try to milk the last 30 minutes. Of a damn friendly. At one point they were subbing out a guy on the other side of the field and he was walking so slow the ref made him leave the field on the opposite side. I’ve literally never seen that before.

Stretcher was called three times only for the player to hop up right before it got there. In a friendly. I’d never schedule them again.
