Please give me one good reason to not think Bronco Mendenhall was specifically hired because of his option defense schemes at BYU. Follow that up with a reason to stop playing those BYU games back over and over in my head.

I'll hang up and listen.
 
1. Bronco Mendenhall's teams regularly beat non-option teams.

Explain to me how his "option defense schemes" are any different than anyone else we play. How does Mendenhall know something that no one else knows? Does he have the blueprint?
 
Was specifically hired because of his option defense schemes? Not sure what you're implying. UVA winning more games or even beating VPI sometime this century seems like the bigger priority than a coaches schemes.
 
Because that would suggest that UVA hired a coach just to beat us which doesn't make a whole lot of sense. But I don't know why I'm responding to a Beej freakoutery thread. We might lose this game by accident and he'll come out and brag that he knew it was going to happen because Mendenhall.

What are you predicting? Your predictions have more credibility than anyone else's recently.
 
College football is scripted like wrastlin' and the producers are just trialing a new heated rivalry formula at a lower billing before LSU starts running the option and miss st hires a coach just to beat them.

UVa hasn't beaten VT in a thousand years.

But UVa hired Bronco to deal with us?
 
I am sure UVA students and athletes are too worried about how offended they are by Thomas Jefferson to worry about the option this week.
 
Bronco done messed up, IMO. He had a fine thing going at BYU, and should have held out for a better Power 5 job.
