UVA/NC State

It's all coming together for Tech to get back in the ACC race.

UVA 4-1
VT 3-1
Miami 2-2
GT - 2-3

UVA still has to play 3 more ACC games and will probably lose to WF and VT.

This means VT would have to lose to either FSU or UM.

Of course, we would need to win out.

I'll get excited about our chances when (and only when) we beat VT.

......so you think its likely that....

UVA loses their last 3 ACC games (yea right)
We beat VT (could happen)
VT loses 1 more ACC game after us (....maybe)
UM loses another (could happen)

Probability of one or two happening, pretty good. All together....yea right.

If I'm not mistaken, UVA only has to lose 2 of 3 (very likely) and one or both of VT and Miami end up at 3 losses (they play each other and Miami plays @ BC, and VT plays F$U). I think we would win the tie breaker with more than 2 teams involved (if UVA is one of them) by best division record.

I think the least likely of your list is VT losing a 3rd game (assuming we beat them on Thursday).

UVA only needs to lose two of their last three. Still unlikely though.

We HAVE to beat VT. Then VT HAS to lose to either FLorida State or Miami.

I think Miami could take them, i believe that game is at Miami. VT gets FSU at home. I know that for sure.

This Thursday night should be a good one. This is our last shot at actually beating a good team this year until we play Georgie.

He means above average.

CU might be.

UM is not.

And my apologies for the UVA misunderstanding. I thought lone loss before tonight was non-conference.

It was. Their only conference loss was the one tonight. The reason they only need to lose two more is we would win the tie-breaker due to our division (not overall conference) record. That's only if VT and/or Miami has/have three conference losses as well.

I believe that UVa would have to lose 3 more, or having the tie breaker over us, should we both come away wih 3 conference losses each, we would have to be ranked higher in the polls to go Jacksonville and represent the Coastal Division. Also if we should by some miracle win the next three we would only have 1 loss in our own division.

Why does UVA not need 4 losses in the ACC? Is it because of something to do with them having a loss to VT, us having a win over them, etc?

The previous was assuming we win out, UM loses 1 more, VT loses 1 more other than us.

You've got it. Though Sewell being out makes UVA chances of going 4-4 in conference very real. They would have beat us 3 TDs if Groh didn't put that frosh in.

If we win I'll be quite excited baout our chances but I'm not sure how we're going to win. Have you figured that out yet? I think it involves Glennon taking lots of sacks and fumbling a few times.

I just told you guys exactly what needs to happen for us to win the division. Why are you guys just repeating what I said?

At this point, I have no idea what to expect. I just know that the VPI game will be ugly as all hell, just like our games against Clemson and Miami. I'm pretty sure it will be eeked out by whichever team wins.

Sorry I missed it, but what happened to Tyrod Taylor? Is it a definite that Glennon will start vs. us on Thursday night?
