I live in Charlottesville and I can tell you first hand UVA sucks! Troy is a beter team then UVA. They have no speed on defense.Look for one of the Johnson's to light them up Thursday.TechGator1066 said:Although, I was wrong about covering the spread against Troy, I think we will cover it against UVA. Our players will not take UVA lightly(Some of them have never beaten UVA!)and we will be in control all game. The game will be over by the 4th quarter with the score being 34-7, the back-ups will allow a TD in the 4th with the final score being 34-14. The 3 year drought will end Thursday night in impressive fashion to give us momentum for our trip to Blacksburg.

The big difference will be in the VA offensive philosophy--run to set up the pass .They have a big offensive line and will start a mobile QB --who could give us fits if they go to a short passing game to the RBs and TEs.This is the type of offense that we have the most trouble against.Let's hope our DL is ready to help stuff the run and force the Hooo'rs to try a few longer passes.odw said:i'm with bsakoff. History agrees with WILMOO. UVa is one of the few teams that have manhandled our defense. They've done it by coming straight at us with the ground game and the using play-action off of that.beej67 said:I disagree. I think we have much bigger problems with teams that have a good intermediate passing game and who protect well.
Why does everyone get so worked up over Vegas lines? They're put out there for the gambling public, not the fans. They're trying to get 50% of the money on each side guaranteeing that the book will make $$$.flyjacket said:GT is listed as a 17 point favorite.
I would have predicted 6, but 17?
Anyone else surprised by this?

You are 100% right, and the QB they are starting is not even in the same ballpark as Hagans, and they do not have a TE like Heath Miller to dump the ball short too.BarrelORum said:UVA lost badly to Pitt, and lost to Western Michigan by 7. If we cannot beat them by 10 I'd be depressed. 17 is about accurate of a point spread as it will draw an even number of bettors to both sides which is its intent. That said, Gailey is famous for not having a killer instinct and putting away teams, hence covering the point spread. Doubt it happens.
And those aren't even the reasons why they suck. Their offensive line is apparently a huge liability this year where it was a major advantage over us and our blitz in the last few seasons. We now have opportunities to get to the QB (who shouldn't be as mobile as Hagans) that we haven't had the last couple of years.bsakoff said:You are 100% right, and the QB they are starting is not even in the same ballpark as Hagans, and they do not have a TE like Heath Miller to dump the ball short too.
