Tough, because I think guys will always want to attain status by having sex with lots of women. It's an ingrained, human thing. Maybe it should be emphasized more that minutes of risky sex is not a good long-term strategy... the sex will come. Don't screw up your life over a few minutes.

A problem for the sex psychologists too. There's a lot of desire for rapey sexual activity out there. These guys may have liked that what they were doing was rapey. Perhaps there need to be better outlets than pornography...

I'm of the theory that indulging a desire doesn't usually lessen it, but validates it and magnifies it. That said, what do you mean 'better outlets than pornography'?
 
I think there's also a culture where it's funny when someone is passed out drunk, and they're someone to play pranks on or mess with. E.g. the recent Penn State death. Obviously this was way more than a prank, but I doubt these same guys would do something like grab a woman out walking and take her into the woods

I think that would be something worth researching, whether indulging rapey desires actually lessens them. There is "sleeping woman" porn out there these days and it doesn't even seem that fringe
