Taylor went into a very tough situation and performed admirably. He threw a couple up for grabs, including the INT, but he also didn't throw any 10 feet too high. His performance in the pocket was excellent. He turned the wrong way and got sacked the first time he faced pressure, but after that he did an excellent job of avoiding pressure and keeping plays alive.
Certain dogmatists here have claimed Taylor's performance mostly owes to West Virginia's lousy pass defense, but if you look at the season only Brian Brohm put up better numbers against them (and only a little better at that) and 35 points in 4 quarters against them is better than any other offense did (Louisville scored 44, but that included a punt return TD and a fumble return TD, Rutgers had 23 points at the start of overtime), 486 yards total offense is also the highest total of any team this season against WVU.
I am very pleased to know we will have a RS Junior this capable as our leading QB candidate for next year.
