After many years of watching college football I will now say that Vince Young's two performances at the Rose Bowl are the best I have witnessed. Down 38-26 he was awesome.

This year the BCS worked. All 4 games were very entertaining. #1 vs. #2, the top 3 Heisman finishers on the same field and all were terrific, and a 41-38 final. Wow!
(And Tarheel fans can't help but hurt a little that Brown left them and now has a National Championship.)

Here's hoping that 1990 will not be the only time in my life I watch the Jackets play for a national title. Those Longhorn fans had a ball tonight, and it had been a long time for them since 1969.

that was the best college football game I've ever seen, with the best one man performance I've ever seen. WOW.

In Vince's Press Conference by the way, he gave major props to MKac McWhorter for recruiting and coaching the best and biggest offensive line in the country. Thought that was a pretty big compliment.

yep, and to think we had Mac... hell of a coach that I really wish we would have given a chance for the OC job, or at the very least tried hard to keep on the staff instead of the politicol cleaning that pretty much inevitably occur.

Mac is an incredible OL coach..one of the best ever. He also does a great job recruiting.

Great man as well.

He is not an OC though. Matter of fact, he came to Texas first as the TE's coach after leaving GT.

Texas was the team I followed before attending GT, so I was pretty happy with the outcome...

I used to go down to Austin for games every year, but haven't been to one in a couple years. Oddly enough, the last game I went to was in 2003 when Texas came back to beat Texas Tech. Young was a freshmen and was actually benched for Chance Mock, who came in and won the game late in the 4th qtr.

Young's improvement from the 2003 season is mind boggling...argueably the most unstoppable college football player I have ever seen.

Will his throwing motion translate in the NFL? He seems to flick the ball, not really throw it

He certainly has a strong arm, but only time will tell if he's more of a Mike Vick than a pro quarterback. I heard analysts this morning on ESPN radio say that he should turn pro now while he's on top, because IF his throwing is suspect, that may be found out if he plays another year in college. Matt Leinert, on the other hand, has shown he can throw the way the pros need it to be thrown.

I've seen some throws where he put some incredible touch on the ball. There was a game last year that he threw to his (?cousin or someone related to him?) from the 40 to right on the 1 yard line over the shoulder drop in type pass that was very impressive. I predict that he'll be a better QB than Vick due to the fact that he's bigger and can/will pass better.

I think Young jumped over both USC guys in the draft last night and took a few million from both. Houston should trade Carr and take Vince Young with the #1. Not only is he the best player, but it is a good fit with him now being a Texas football legend. Kind of like Cleveland takin LaBron James, only on a much bigger stage.
