Virginny Preview

Virginia had six rushing yards against Lville. Six. For the game. They averaged 9 inches per rush. Not kidding.

Remarkably, tho, they did have one rushing TD.

Yeah apparently their OL has been trash on the order of 2019-2021 Tech. On paper that looks like a juicy matchup for our DL who I believe I heard was Top 20ish in TFL.

6 sacks (-50 yards, probably) and 8 tackles for loss will tend to negate a lot of the positive yardage.

UVA played Syracuse close (final score 22-20 at Syracuse), but it looks like the Orange had 4 turnovers and blew a 16-0 halftime lead.

figured as much but couldn't find he sack stats.

Here are all the rushing plays and sacks by UVA in that game. 45 positive rushing yards, 4 negative rushing yards equaling 41 net rushing yards on 19 attempts. Still only 2.2 ypc. 6 sacks for 35 yards gives a total net of 6 yards rushing for the game. Still not good on the rushing stats even if you take the sacks out.

UVa really hasn't run the ball well the last few years, unless Armstrong or Perkins were scrambling. Taulapapa never did put up much resembling decent numbers before he transferred out.
