Call me overly optimistic if you want, but I think we avenge last year's blowout loss. We will come in with little hype(unlike last year going into Blacksburg ranked 15th in the polls) and VPI will not take us seriously. GT 24 VPI 21-A stunner in Blacksburg.

Call me overly pessimistic, but I predict a close game that we lose in the 4th quarter on some kind of Sportscenter miracle.

VT 21, GT 17

Offensive line is exposed. Hokies roll. 28-13

The only line I have seen was VPI-8.5, 37 over/under, so that translates to a 23-14 pick.

I'm giving them one TD less than that, assuming we don't give them any cheap ones on blocked FG's or INT returns this year, and giving us an extra FG based on a great game for Reggie Ball: GT 17-16.

Right now I have to say VT Thugs 24 GT 13.

However, by gametime I will have successfully convinced myself that we will win as I do every week.

If it were not in Blacksburg I would say GT 17 VT 13.

I know we play well on the road...but we have yet to figure out Blacksburg.

This year is the year we figure it out. We learned from last year and we will come out prepared.

Chan's style of football does not translate well at Blacksburg. Lots of punts equals higher punt block potential. You have to go into their place and play to win and Chan just isn't going to do that. Trying to play a close squeeker, we lose on a couple of big plays.

If we can get a few big plays, say an interception return for a td, then we can win. Our ST have to play special or we're in big trouble.

I see a tie.

I have a strange feeling that we win this game and then drop the next three in a row.

A little Bee told me that if Special Teams plays a mistake free game........Nix is going to open things up and give Chan an ulser...................................... GT wins 27 - 20

I see a defensive battle up to the 4th quarter. The team with the higher T.O.P will win. My overly-optimistic side is telling me it will be GT 17-14. I never liked my analytical side.

The Fighting Turkeys from Blacksburg are not even close to the team that smoked us last year. There DB are weak. They have a work in progress at QB. and there are no superstars to be found on offense. Cincy gave them all they wanted last week. The Jackets roll in Blacksburg 17-0. Go Jackets!

For some reason, I haven't been able to shake the hangover that last year's 51-7 beatdown left. Everytime I try to predict a Tech win over VPISU, I get really nervous. My inner pessimist reminds me how I watched that game and was depressed afterwards when I had to stay up all night to finish a memo for school....anyway...

The much maligned Tech O-line is not the end of the world. In fact, I think they are actually average. And an average performance against an good VPISU team may be enough. The defense will cause all manner of problems for the safety school in VA.

Special teams will hurt us badly though--VT blocks one kick--but Reggie, who will run for many yards, will be referred to by the announcers as a "poor man's Michael Vick." Reggie helps win the game.

Tech 23. Safety School 20.

If we were playing at home,I could see the crowd getting us over the 51-7 hangover. But away it is too much to ask probably.so 10-13,Gobbles.

Come on guys!!!!! I've read all predictions so far and nobody has mentioned the DIFFERENCE MAKER yet.... CJ will have a big day, we'll bog down in the red zone a couple of times but HIT a couple of chip-shots instead of having them blocked this time and hang on to win 20-17

VPI has too much talent for us to win, but our defense keeps us in the game, and somehow, someway we gut it out for a hard earned victory on our way to the coastal division championship!
GT 14, VPI 10 ; GO JACKETS!

GT 27 Knobgobblers 17. I see two offensive touchdowns with a Kenny Scott INT for TD. Couple of FG's late in game to seal the deal. I think all of our dominance will be on D. I promise that that QB will get rattled and that smells TO's and TO's big!!

Other outcome could be a lightning storm that cancels the game. LET THE TRASH TALKING DECIDE THE ACC CHAMP:laugher:
