I'm just looking for some insight as to what BC has to do to win this game. I know we should be thinking about Limpson and believe me I am... but if VT wins this game I see maybe one loss in their following schedule, but definately not two... :fingersx:

I'm just looking for some insights as to how in the hell is VT the UNDERDOG in this game?

Take VT and the points if you're a bettin' man.

It depends what zebras are doing the game. Against GT and UNC, VT won on questionable calls late in the game. They even went on the road to Lincoln and beat Nebraska thanks to a very questionable call. The call in our game was not even "questionable".

Sagarin has Georgia Tech at #1 in the ACC, but the only teams ahead of VT are teams VT has either already beaten, or won't play. That's in terms of "Ranking."

If you look at the "Predictor" numbers, though, which are the ones that include the margin of victory math, VT is in the bottom of the pack. GT, Wake, UNC, FSU, BC, and Duke are all ahead of them.

That gives me some small hope that they'll lose 2 games, but honestly there's not many that they can lose. Most of their remaining schedule is patsies.

According to Sagarin, VT may have problems with BC, FSU, and Duke.

Pathetic. Get over it. Although I didn't like the call, it was helmet to helmet contact. We had our chances and didn't get it done.

Yep, we also fumbled with a minute left in the first half that led to a TD.

all things boston are trending down; RedSox had to settle for the wildcard, Patriots lost the SuperBowl and now lost their QB, Harvard lost top ranking to Princeton, and clam chowder is less popular than ever -- I dont see BC winning it unless VT has a bunch of turnovers or mistakes on special teams

in the grander scheme of things, may obsolescence and destruction reign upon both programs for years to come

I disagree regarding BC at least,I think that they are better than most give them credit for primarily because of their D. I say that they beat VT for us.

shut up kirby-i wil get over it if I wish. Helmet to helmet could be called every play.

Well, take away the 3-pt home field advantage and VT is a slight fave.

What BC must do is control the LOS on defense and allow little to no run game - with VTs starting (and most productive) RB out for the season and BCs rock solid DL, this should be relatively easy. Next, they'll need to keep contain on TT and make him make plays throwing and not running (easier said than done, we saw Nesbitt break contain just enough to help us beat them). On special teams, just break even - don't let VT turn the game on a blocked kick or in the return game. On offense, protect the ball. VTs D is good but they are vulnerable (we put up nearly 400 yds, UNC and Nebraska put up over 300) so they need to put up points when the have the opportunities (good RZ offense).

keep contain on TT
BC needs to keep contain on TT and find some way to score points. BC's passing game is crap this year. They don't have the ability to play from behind.

I really, really hope BC wins this game. VT is 1 spot in front of Duke as far as offensive production is concerned. It's like 100th or worse in the nation. There is no damn way they keep scraping by with that crap....it makes me sick. VT fans say VT is a powerhouse, with that offense?? There is no way they make it without two wins...or there should not be.

BC played us tougher and statistically better than VT did. Both games could have gone either way and I felt we deserved a W more against VT. I think BC will win this game since they are the home team. I also think FSU at home has a decent shot at handing VT a second ACC loss next week. If we don't handle Clemson and UVA, of course, it doesn't matter. The next two weeks are crucial for the Jackets and will go a long way to determining if this is just a better than expected rebuilding year or our best season in several years.

I think this game is perfectly winnable for BC if they bone up. As a matter of fact I'm picking 'em to win. Of course they could always fold and crap on their own cleats but I just don't think VT is that good AND they're playing in Boston.

Should be a good game and good coaches game.

Boston College remembers losing the ACCCG last year. The BC front four will have their hands full, but my plan if I were Jagz would be to make TT try and beat me with his arm. Contain him and the VT running game and they could have a very decent chance at winning.

We overpursued him. They need to slow play him and have 1 LB as a spy.
