Boone said the one thing that will separate the Hokies from the rest of the Coastal Division this fall will be the "want to" factor.

What a piece of trash. Does he not think GT "want's it?" Pretty sure of himself to assume so, seeings how GT has their own NC aspirations this year. Especially seeings how PJ has a trend of not losing to opponents two years in a row.

The funniest part of this interview is when he said if they had beaten BC they would have been playing for the National Championship. That's laughable. Their 2007 team got destroyed by LSU at the beginning of the season and got beat by Kansas in the Orange Bowl. The entire ACC sucked that year and was getting dogged for not having any decent teams.

I can't wait to play these guys.

You and me both, buddy, you and me both. It's going to be a helluva night at BDS when we play those suckers. I was really hoping they would beat Alabama, but now, I am really hoping Alabama beats them and puts ole' Boone's little dreams out to sea...

No, let them beat Bama. It will make us crushing VPISU that much sweeter. This article smacks of the alternate reality most of their fans live in.

Weare going to run all over them. Whats hilarious is they think they "stopped" us last year. HA HA HA! If Josh had hit the wide open Roddy we would have won, and we should have won that game. Seriously, how many plays did we run in that game? 4 or 5? The O was new last year in its 3rd or 4th game or whatever it was. We will be a completely different team when we play this time and AT HOME. I hope their coaches and players are expecting the same GT team they played last year. They are going to be in for a rude awakening. I cannot wait! Effing turkey legs

Here, Here!

I prefer to think of them as the castrated little birds (the technical definition of a hokie).

I remember when I went up there for the game in 2006 and at the concessions stand, one of their students said.. "oh look, that other "Tech" school has fans."

I turned around and said, "we are the only Tech school. You are VPI. When you actually win a national championship let me know, but having some successful years and conference championships, especially from the Big East, doesn't qualify".

He said to me "Well what kind of championships has GT won?" With this smirk on his face like he knew what he was talking about.

Once I educated him, he shut the **** up.

In the words of the Immortal Ric Flair:
To be the man....you gotta BEAT THE MAN! WOOOOO!

VT is the team to beat in our division and conference until someone does it. I still find it crazy that only us and VT have represented our division since the ACC expanded. The year we beat VT, we went to the title game...Beat VT, and the title game is a lot closer to reality. They will have an experienced and well-coached team, as always with Beamer, but they must come into Bobby Dodd. I like our chances.

VT was lucky to get us early. Just watched recap highlights of that game, and we just sucked. Could not run plays properly or block the DTs. Yet we still outgained them by about 150 yards and kept it close. If we don't give them 2 fumbles (especially one right before the half that they turned into 7), and the pick, we could have rolled them. To say nothing of the late hit penalty (bad call), or the stupid face mask that MJ committed.

Mark my words, we will be dialed in when VT comes to town, and we will win that football game. I respect what they have accomplished, but it's our time now.

VPI was ranked ahead of LSU on a number of ballots, at least until the BC game. A lot of people rightly said it showed how absurd the whole BCS and polling process is.
