1. Injuries- Earls, AJ Smith, Jefferson, AT Barnes, BeBe, Frierson. Out of this group BeBe looks to be the only one who might play the rest are out. BeBe will be a gametime decision. My guess- he plays.

2. If BeBe can't go then look for RB Clyburn to get plenty of action, he is better then your normal walk-on and has improved his blocking. Tyler Melton will need to really step up. Greg Smith could split out if needed as well.

3. Look for us to use more quick hitters this week. Our line play has hampered us when setting up for the TO. I look for VT to bring the heat, they will try to rattle Josh and make us beat them thru the air. This might be the week you see a lot of big plays from our Offense. Embry could see more action this week as he did in practice with Greg struggling.

4. I really worry about our freshman this game, we are still so young and have so many of them playing important roles, this is a whole different atmosphere from BC. I really wish we were at full strength for this game, last week I was pretty confident about this game. Now it scares the piss outta me.

5. Sed is getting a lot of praise from the coaches, look for him to still be the starter when AT returns. Tony Clark will then be the first off the bench into the rotation.

6. Cooper is really pushing Nique in the secondary, by next week he could be our starter back there.

7. Roddy needs to step up this week, after his fumble last week he never touched the ball again, we cant just rely on JD and Josh.

8. AT told me he thinks he will practice next week. Brad is done for a while if not the year, my guess- medical redshirt, if he is not back by game 7 that will most likely be the case, also that is probably the earliest he would return regardless. Sed's play at least makes me feel better about this.

9. Most the defensive players are more worried about Glennon then Taylor, they see Josh and Jaybo all the time running around. We feel like we can contain Taylor, Glennon shredded us last year though. They do believe that Taylor may take more snaps. One good thing is his receivers are all gone from last year.

10. Our secondary, or mainly Jahi is looking at this as a redemption game from last year. He is excited about our new scheme and coverages, he is not left out to dry this year.

11. We should see more blitzing from our D this week, not a Tenuta blitzkrieg but Coach W is smart with disguising his defenses and blitz packages. All the Defensive players have really bought into his scheme and love it.

12. Our front 4 needs to have a big week, with still breaking in our LB's they need to help them out. We also need a MJ coming out party soon, he has been quiet this year.

13. Special teams need to be really special this week. Beamer Ball could be a huge factor in this game, our ST units need to step up. Remember Scott is not missing short field goals, all have been pretty long. If the snap is not corrected by the first field goal look for a new snapper out there by the next field goal. As one of the coaches told me about the situation this week "you got one dang job, snap the frickin ball":D

14. Flying out in a couple hours to the Burg. Gettin a late start this road trip. I really hate that place, great atmosphere just not a place I would like to live. Actually flying in to Roanoke tonight and planning on visiting some old friends before heading over to Blacksburg tomorrow.

BIG GAME, LETS GET IT! GO JACKETS
Everyone who is coming up have a safe trip.
Have a great day everyone!

Thanks for the update, dem. You seriously rock. Do you know how much having AJ Smith back will help the oline?

No worse then last week, he looked fine last week. Its just a precaution, all matters how he feels tomorrow. If he is out there he is close to 100%.

You never know with AJ. He has had a bad string of luck with injuries. Last week was a throat infection, he was cleared to practice this week then hurts his arm. Should find out next week how long he will be out.

We need Thomas out there at Flanker...his downfield blocking has been integral to our ground assault thusfar. Hopefully he feels ready to go tomorrow.
