Wake game road trip ...

I've been to see Tech play at every ACC venue except the new NC State stadium and Wake. SWMBO and I were thinking of going there this year.

Can anyone who's been there comment on atmosphere, tailgating, etc.?

There is a parking lot that GT fans have always meet up at. Not very many GT fans at that. It is very subdued.

Imagine going to a high school football game. Their stadium looks like one and feels like one.

The last time I went 3 years ago, the visitor side was completely emtpy. I sat on the 45 about 5 rows up. Great view.

The atmosphere may be a little better this year since they are winning.

<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">Actually they sold out -- actually oversold by a couple grand -- last week against NC State and (I think) again this week. So the times they are a changin' at Wake.

We go to Wake every time we play there. Winston Salem is great and the folks are really nice. There are some good restaurants there and Old Salem is very nice with good restaurants and shops. We are going and got our hotel reservations some time ago. We couldn't stay at our first 2 choices because they were booked. I wonder if it's Wake's Homecoming game?
